## Description

The Lead Additive Manufacturing Technician is a hands-on production role responsible for the safe and efficient manufacture of components using DED-arc additive manufacturing processes.  Working as part of the shift team, the role will actively operate equipment, support manufacturing activities, troubleshoot production issues and ensure compliance with quality and safety requirements. 

Alongside their technical responsibilities, the Lead Additive Manufacturing Technician will coordinate and support additive manufacturing technicians on shift, ensuring production targets are achieved, processes are followed, issues are escalated appropriately and team capability continues to develop. 

Roles Responsibilities 

-   Lead and coordinate a team of additive manufacturing technicians on shift, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and bias to action. 

-   Oversee and operate the DED-arc equipment and processes, monitoring build progress and production performance throughout the shift, ensuring compliance with production drawings, work instructions and process parameters. 

-   Ensure all quality procedures for the manufacturing of components are strictly adhered to, including component re-work and repairs, escalating technical, quality or safety concerns where necessary. Working closely with the Manufacturing Engineer to ensure compliance. 

-   Conduct detailed shift handovers to the incoming Lead AM Technician, ensuring all relevant information relating to production progress and outstanding actions are effectively communicated and documented. 

-   Maintain accurate shift records and production reports, ensuring all shift activities are clearly documented in line with the IMS processes to support operational continuity and traceability. 

-   Promote and endorse good housekeeping through the manufacturing facility.   

-   Engage with the Manufacturing Engineer for production support and technical assistance. 

-   Collaborate with the Workshop Manager and Inventory & Logistic Assistant to ensure workstations, consumables, tools and equipment are maintained, stocked, and ready for production activities. 

-   Collaborate with the Workshop Manager to ensure all maintenance activities are carried out when required. 

-   Collaborate with the Technical Training Lead to ensure training programs are up to date and are continually developing.

## Requirements

-   Minimum of 2 years of experience in additive manufacturing, with at least 1 years in a shift-based manufacturing supervisory or leadership role. 

-   Knowledge of DED-arc technology or welding processes.  

-   Knowledge of quality control principles and practices in manufacturing. 

-   Experience of working within regulated industries. 

-   Team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team. 

-   Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and effectively communicate manufacturing process issues. 

-   Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts to support 24/7 production operations. 

-   Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
