## Description

NGT Academy is a veteran-founded, Y Combinator-backed IT career training company on a mission to place one million people into tech careers by 2030. We're hiring a part-time CCNA Instructor to lead live instruction for our networking students and keep our CCNA track sharp as Cisco's certification evolves.

**What you'll do**

-   Host one live 60-minute study hall session per week for CCNA students: concept walkthroughs, practice questions, and live Q&A
-   Monitor Cisco's CCNA 200-301 blueprint and keep course content current as the exam evolves
-   Respond to student questions asynchronously, with backup from our training team
-   Submit a brief monthly summary of sessions held and content updates made

A major rebuild of our CCNA course is coming ahead of the 2027 Cisco exam changes. We're scoping it now, and this hire is first in line to lead it as a separately compensated project.

**Our hiring process**

We keep it short and transparent. Every candidate goes through the same five steps:

1.  Apply with your resume and a 3–5 minute teaching sample: a Loom video, or an existing recording of you teaching or training (details in the application form)
2.  Teaching sample review — we watch your sample and review your background
3.  Behavioral assessment — a short written questionnaire, about 15 minutes
4.  Live technical assessment — a spoken conversation with Zach Elliott, our Director of Academic Excellence, covering CCNA-level knowledge at the depth you'd teach it. No written test, no lab, no trick questions. If you hold a current Cisco certification and teach this material, this is a conversation about things you already know.
5.  Final interview with our CEO

Plan for the process to take about two weeks end to end. The technical assessment is a required step for every candidate, regardless of certifications or experience — it's how we keep the bar consistent for the students who count on us.

## Requirements

-   Active Cisco certification at CCNA level or above — a current CCNP or CCIE more than covers it. CCNP holders, especially Data Center track, move to the front of the line.

-   Minimum 2 years hands-on networking experience: enterprise, ISP, or military/DoD network environments

-   Minimum 1 year teaching, training, or mentoring adults. Formal instruction, corporate training, or a structured military instructor role all qualify

-   Strong on-camera presence and reliable weekly availability for a consistent live session

-   A 3–5 minute teaching sample submitted with your application: an existing recording of you teaching or training, or a Loom video explaining one CCNA concept as if teaching someone brand new to networking. Applications without a sample will not be reviewed.
