### Software Development Engineer II (SDE II)

### About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Software Development Engineer II (SDE II) with 4–8 years of experience to design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs. You will own features end-to-end — from design and development through deployment and production support — and drive them to completion with minimal supervision.

## Requirements

### Key Responsibilities

-   Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js.
-   Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, production-quality code.
-   Participate in design reviews — evaluate trade-offs, flag weak designs, and propose better alternatives.
-   Own features end-to-end and drive them to completion with minimum nudges.
-   Containerize services using Docker; deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot on cloud platforms.
-   Lead code reviews, debug complex production issues, and perform root cause analysis.
-   Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with product, QA/SDET, and DevOps teams.

### Required Technical Skills

-   **Node.js (Mandatory)** — strong hands-on backend experience with JavaScript/TypeScript
-   **Go (Optional, but preferred)**
-   Strong fundamentals — data structures, algorithms, OOP, and asynchronous programming
-   Good understanding of **system design**
-   **Cloud** — working experience with at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP (Required)
-   **Git (Required)**, **Docker (Required)**, **Kubernetes (Optional, but preferred)**
-   Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Linux commands, and basic shell scripting

### Good to Have

-   SQL and/or NoSQL databases
-   Messaging queues (NATS/Kafka) or event-driven systems
-   Distributed systems or microservices experience
-   Prior experience building configurable systems or integrations

### Required Soft Skills

-   Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
-   Ownership mindset — drives things to completion with minimum nudges
-   Effective communication; works well independently and collaboratively
-   Attention to detail and a continuous learning attitude

### Qualifications

-   Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
-   4–8 years of experience in software development, working in Agile environments.

-   Cybersecurity or Identity Management software company
