We are looking for an experienced **Packet Core Deployment Engineer** with strong expertise in deploying, integrating, upgrading, and troubleshooting Packet Core Network solutions across 4G and 5G environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience deploying Packet Core nodes on telecom cloud infrastructure, including Bare Metal, Virtual Network Functions (VNFs), and Cloud-Native Network Functions (CNFs).

The role requires an end-to-end understanding of Packet Core architecture, 4G/5G call flows, cloud infrastructure, and telecom network integration. You will work closely with customer teams and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performing Packet Core solutions aligned with customer requirements and network design specifications.

**Experience:** 5–10 years  
**Minimum Relevant Experience:** 5+ years overall, including at least 2 years in Packet Core solution implementation and upgrades.

## Requirements

## Key Responsibilities

-   Lead end-to-end deployment, integration, configuration, and upgrades of Packet Core Network elements across 4G and 5G environments.
-   Deploy Packet Core nodes on Bare Metal, VNF, and CNF architectures within telecom cloud environments.
-   Implement Packet Core solutions based on customer requirements, following High-Level Design (HLD) and Detailed Level Design (DLD) specifications.
-   Install, configure, integrate, and upgrade core network elements, including SMF, UPF, PGW, and SGW.
-   Support the deployment of 4G Evolved Packet Core (EPC) and 5G Standalone (SA) and Non-Standalone (NSA) network components.
-   Work with cloud and virtualization platforms such as OpenStack, VMware, OpenShift, Docker, and container-based environments.
-   Validate system functionality, perform interoperability testing, and ensure seamless integration across multi-vendor network environments.
-   Troubleshoot complex network and deployment issues using Wireshark, system logs, packet captures, and protocol-level debugging techniques.
-   Analyse and resolve issues related to 4G and 5G call flows, including VoLTE, VoWiFi, and IoT use cases.
-   Execute software upgrades, patches, migrations, and configuration changes while minimizing service disruption.
-   Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize configurations to ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability.
-   Collaborate with onsite and offshore engineering teams, customer stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to meet project milestones.
-   Prepare and maintain deployment documentation, configuration records, test reports, troubleshooting guides, and operational procedures.
-   Provide technical support during deployment, integration, acceptance testing, and post-deployment activities.
-   Participate in technical discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions, customer presentations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

## Required Qualifications and Skills

-   5–10 years of experience in telecom network engineering, Packet Core deployment, or related telecommunications infrastructure roles.
-   At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Packet Core solution implementation, deployment, integration, or upgrades.
-   Strong end-to-end understanding of Packet Core architecture and solution implementation.
-   Deep knowledge of **4G and 5G call flows**, network interfaces, protocols, and core network components.
-   Experience with deploying Packet Core nodes on Bare Metal infrastructure, VNFs, and CNFs.
-   Hands-on experience installing, configuring, integrating, upgrading, and troubleshooting Packet Core nodes.
-   Working knowledge of **SMF, UPF, PGW, and SGW** and their roles in 4G/5G networks.
-   Understanding of telecom cloud environments and the deployment of EPC and Packet Core solutions on cloud infrastructure.
-   Good working knowledge of Linux, VMware, Docker, containers, OpenStack, and OpenShift.
-   Proficiency in network troubleshooting using Wireshark, packet captures, system logs, and protocol analysis.
-   Ability to interpret and execute network deployment activities in accordance with HLD and DLD specifications.
-   Understanding of telecom technologies and use cases, including VoLTE, VoWiFi, and IoT.
-   Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.

## Good-to-Have Skills

-   Hands-on experience with **Nokia CMG and Nokia CMM**.
-   Experience with cloud-native telecom network functions and container orchestration.
-   Familiarity with multi-vendor Packet Core integration and interoperability testing.
-   Experience with 5G Core deployments, network migrations, and software lifecycle management.
-   Knowledge of telecom network performance optimization and high-availability configurations.
