## Description

The Work

LAUSD's Facilities Environmental Technical Unit (FETU) manages the environmental side of school construction and repair: asbestos abatement and lead remediation that has to happen before campuses can be demolished, renovated, or repaired. As the Junior M&O Project Manager, you help plan, coordinate, and expedite these projects across schools, administrative buildings, and other District facilities.

You are the liaison among the District's project management units, the Maintenance and Operations areas, environmental consultants, and abatement contractors. You review Requests for Assistance with FETU technical staff to set the scope, review project drawings, prepare funding request packages, and request and evaluate cost proposals from environmental consultants for accuracy and viability.

Day to day you initiate and execute abatement work through A&B, task order, and JOC contracts, schedule lead and asbestos abatements around demolition, renovation, and the temporary housing of students and staff, review contractor submittals, daily logs, and certified payroll to approve invoices, analyze change orders, run the bid and contract award process, and support closeout and certification. You keep the FETU tracking sheet current and document job start meetings.

### Why MAAS

MAAS has spent nearly 40 years earning the trust of 50+ educational institutions across California, managing over $10B in projects. That track record means the work here is stable, funded, and consequential. You are not chasing the next contract.

As a MAAS employee, you are also an owner. The company is 100% employee-owned through an ESOP, a retirement benefit provided at no cost to you, on top of your salary. MAAS is a profitable, well-run organization and our share price has more than doubled since the plan's inception, with continued growth year over year. Your ownership stake builds the longer you stay, and ESOP participants nationally tend to accumulate 2.5x more in retirement savings than employees at non-ESOP companies.

In an industry not known for prioritizing culture, 96% of MAAS employees say it is a great place to work, and 100% say people genuinely care about each other.
