## Description

The Weather Forecaster provides 24/7/365 operational meteorological support for Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) missions. This role requires certified forecasters with a minimum of two years of relevant Department of Defense experience, capable of working rotating shifts in high-tempo, mission-critical environments.

### Responsibilities

-   Deliver real-time weather forecasting and climatological analysis to support global combat operations.
-   Produce and brief mission execution forecasts (MEFs) including takeoff, enroute, destination, and refueling data for multiple locations.
-   Generate and disseminate tactical meteorological products (e.g., icing, lightning, and thunderstorm forecasts within AOR).
-   Lead weather collaboration and shift transition operations including Meteorological Conferences (MetCon) and electronic pass-down logs.
-   Utilize platforms including AFW-WEBS, Mark IV-B, and CAVOK for real-time analysis and mission support.
-   Deliver weather briefings at the start of aircrew flying shifts and as required.
-   Mentor and supervise trainees, ensuring accurate execution under operational conditions.
-   Provide immediate guidance and recommendations during combat operations, severe weather events, and emergency conditions.
-   Ensure security compliance (COMSEC, OPSEC, COMPUSEC) and adapt procedures to meet classified information protocols.
-   Maintain expertise via recurring training and adapt rapidly to new forecasting and data processing technologies.

## Requirements

### Qualifications

-   Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a certified DoD Weather Forecaster (e.g., 1W0X1, or equivalent FAA/NWS/NOAA certification).
-   Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and meteorological data systems.
-   Demonstrated knowledge of military meteorology, risk assessment, and operational mission planning.
-   Capable of working rotating shifts in a 24/7 environment under high operational stress.
-   Familiar with AFW CFETP, distributed learning tools, and Air Force Weather Knowledge Center resources.
