### **Hematologist / Oncologist (MD/DO)**

### **Position Summary**

The Hematologist/Oncologist provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with benign and malignant disorders of the blood and cancer. This role involves delivering evidence-based medical care, coordinating multidisciplinary oncology services, and supporting patients and families throughout the continuum of care.

### **Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

-   Evaluate and manage patients with hematologic disorders and solid and hematologic malignancies
-   Diagnose and treat conditions including anemia, thrombosis, coagulation disorders, leukemia, lymphoma, and solid tumors
-   Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and supportive care
-   Provide outpatient oncology care and inpatient consultation services as needed
-   Monitor treatment response and manage therapy-related side effects and complications
-   Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including radiation oncology, surgery, pathology, radiology, pharmacy, and palliative care
-   Participate in tumor boards and care planning conferences
-   Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, and survivorship care
-   Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
-   Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives
-   Supervise and educate advanced practice providers, residents, or fellows as applicable
-   Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards

### **Qualifications**

-   Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
-   Completion of an accredited internal medicine residency program
-   Completion of an accredited hematology/oncology fellowship program
-   Board-eligible or board-certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology
-   Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
-   DEA registration or eligibility

### **Work Environment**

-   Outpatient oncology clinics, infusion centers, and hospital inpatient settings
-   Call responsibilities as determined by practice or service needs

### **Physical Requirements**

-   Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout clinical environments
-   Manual dexterity for examinations and office-based procedures
-   Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment and treatment monitoring
