Senior GL Accountant

📍 Sri Lanka – Remote  |  💼 Full-Time  |  🏢 US-Based Client – Shared Services

We're hiring on behalf of a US-based client looking to strengthen their Corporate Accounting team. This is a hands-on GL accounting role with a strong AP cleanup focus — ideal for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, fixing what's broken, and building clean books.

What You'll Be Doing

•       Prepare and post journal entries — AP accruals, prepaid entries, banking entries, allocations, and month-end close

•       Reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyze vendor accounts as part of an AP cleanup initiative

•       Support month-end and year-end close processes

•       Manage vendor setup procedures and maintain documentation

•       Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies

•       Collaborate with the US-based Corporate AP Supervisor (Jennifer Martinez) and cross-functional accounting teams

•       Support audits with documentation and explanations

What We're Looking For

•       Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

•       2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in General Ledger

•       CPA or equivalent certification is a plus

•       Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards

•       Proficiency in Excel — pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis

•       Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

•       Clear, professional communication in English — written and verbal

•       Comfortable working independently in a remote, offshore shared-services setup
