## Description

**Job Brief**:

**Ritchie's Welding Inc.** is a premier structural steel fabrication and mobile welding firm with over 35 years of experience delivering commercial, industrial, and federal infrastructure projects. Operating out of our 10,000-square-foot facility in Gloucester, Ontario, we combine traditional craftsmanship with advanced robotic automation. Our portfolio includes iconic regional landmarks and secured projects for the Parliamentary Sector and the Canadian Space Agency.

We are currently seeking a skilled and certified **Structural Steel Welder Fitter** to join our shop production crew. In this role, you will fit, position, and weld structural steel components using blueprints and design specifications. This is a permanent, full-time, on-site position at our Gloucester shop.  
  
**Responsibilities**:

-   **Fitting & Assembly:** Lay out, fit, and assemble structural steel components, beams, columns, and miscellaneous metals according to shop drawings and blueprints.
-   **Welding Execution:** Perform high-quality structural welds utilizing GMAW (Mig) and FCAW (Flux-core) processes in compliance with welding procedures.
-   **Equipment Operation:** Safely operate heavy shop machinery including dual 5-ton overhead cranes, computerized shearing/braking equipment, and material handling systems.
-   **Quality & Safety Control:** Verify dimensions of finished workpieces using precise measuring tools to ensure strict adherence to tolerances and Canadian Welding Bureau standards.

## Requirements

**\- Certifications:** Valid Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) structural certifications are highly preferred (GMAW / FCAW).

**\- Experience:** 2+ years of professional experience as a welder-fitter within a structural steel fabrication shop environment.

**\- Blueprint Literacy:** Proven ability to read, interpret, and work independently from complex structural fabrication drawings.

**\- Logistics & Commute:** Must possess a valid Driver’s License and a reliable personal vehicle. (Please note: Our facility on Power Road is not accessible via municipal public transit routes).

**\- Security Eligibility:** Must be capable of passing basic Canadian federal government security screenings required to work on restricted public works projects.

**\- Physical Demands:** Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long shifts, and safely navigate a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
