### Role

The **Transport & Fleet Manager** is responsible for overseeing both domestic and international transport operations, with hands‑on involvement in the day‑to‑day running of the transport department. The role ensures transport services are delivered efficiently and effectively, supporting business objectives and operational performance.

All activities must be carried out in line with company operational procedures and statutory requirements, including full compliance with Health & Safety standards, to meet the expectations of all stakeholders. This role reports to the Head of Transport, who is based in Dublin.  

**Responsibilities:**

Transport Management

-   Overall management of day‑to‑day transport operations within the business. 

-   Ensure service levels and profitability targets are met in line with agreed budgets. 

-   Lead, motivate, and support the transport team to achieve targets and perform at their best. 

-   Ensure full compliance with all EU and national transport legislation, licensing, and legal requirements. 

-   Make sure all transport activities follow company policies, SOPs, and statutory standards. 

-   Coach and train team members on procedures, compliance, and best practices as required. 

-   Plan and prioritise workload effectively to maximise results with available resources. 

-   Handle operational issues, customer queries, and complaints efficiently and professionally. 

-   Build strong working relationships with internal teams, customers, and regional partners to support operations. 

-   Identify department needs, report to management, and contribute to performance reporting and KPIs.  

Fleet Management 

-   Manage fleet operations across AMS and Nordics to maximise vehicle utilisation and availability. 

-   Ensure accurate and up‑to‑date fleet records, including statutory, safety, accident, and vehicle documentation. 

-   Oversee planned preventative maintenance, defect reporting, repairs, and vehicle downtime. 

-   Support fleet replacement planning, lifecycle cost control, and optimisation of fleet management systems. 

-   Liaise with workshops, suppliers, insurers, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and smooth operations. 

-   Monitor fleet performance, identify risks and trends, and produce KPIs and reports for management.

## Requirements

**Candidate Requirements**

-   Minimum of 5 years’ management experience in a similar transport or fleet role. 
-   Proven ability to lead, motivate, and support teams with a positive and flexible approach. 
-   Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads effectively. 
-   Cost‑conscious mindset, with experience managing budgets and driving efficiencies. 
-   Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider team. 
-   Strong geographical knowledge and operational planning capability. 
-   Experience managing or delivering projects, with the ability to take ownership and drive improvements through to completion. 
-   Hold a valid International CPC and meet the “good repute” requirement under EU Regulation 1071/2009 (including UK O‑Licence holders). 

The following qualifications, skills and experience would be an advantage:

-   A working knowledge of a European language.  
-   Experience of MS SharePoint in a corporate environment.   
-   ADR qualification. 
-   Full Clean C Licence desirable but not essential.
