## Description

Prestage Farms is seeking a _**Turkey Laying Farm Technician**_ to assist in the raising of turkeys for eggs and meat by performing the following duties. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

**Responsibilities**

-   Clean and fill feeders and water containers
-   Spray poultry houses with disinfectants and vaccines
-   Inspect poultry for diseases and remove weak, ill, and dead poultry from flock
-   Collect eggs from trap nests, release hens from nests, and record number of eggs laid by each hen
-   Pack eggs in cases or cartons; select, weigh, and crate fryers and pullets; and record totals packed or crated on shipping or storage document
-   Maintain feeding and breeding reports
-   Monitor feed, water, illumination, and ventilation systems; clean, adjust, lubricate, and replace system parts

## Requirements

-   Work independently

-   Communicate both verbally and in writing
-   Must shower before entering the facility and wear a company uniform
-   Must be available to work weekends

**ADA Requirements**

-   Work with and around disinfectant type chemicals
-   Perform constant walking, lifting, and bending
-   Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms
-   Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
-   Be exposed to outside weather conditions such as heat, cold, dust, and high humidity
-   Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
