## Description

### **About Us**

Storebox is a growing self-storage operator with a portfolio of 29 indoor and outdoor facilities across the UK. We are expanding our footprint through new site acquisitions, ground-up developments, and repurposing of existing buildings. As part of our continued growth, we're looking for a Junior Development Manager to join our development team and support the delivery of sites from initial appraisal through to opening.

### **The Role**

Working closely with and reporting to the Development Manager, you will support the identification, appraisal, and delivery of self-storage development opportunities. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their property or development career to gain hands-on exposure of the full development lifecycle within a fast-moving, commercially focused sector.

### **Key Responsibilities**

•    Support site identification and sourcing, including researching target catchment areas and maintaining a pipeline of potential opportunities

•     Help prepare planning applications and liaise with planning consultants, architects, and local authorities

•     Support the Development Manager in managing the design process with architects and engineers, ensuring schemes meet operational and brand requirements

•     Assist in managing the tendering process and coordinating with contractors, quantity surveyors, and project managers during construction

•     Track project budgets, timelines, and key milestones, flagging risks or delays

•     Prepare reports, presentations, and investment papers for internal stakeholders and board approval

•     Conduct due diligence on prospective acquisitions (title, planning history, ground conditions, etc.)

•     Build and maintain relationships with agents, landowners, planning consultants, and local authorities

•     Attend site visits, design meetings, and project review meetings

•     Carry out general administrative and coordination tasks to support the wider development team

## Requirements

•     1–3 years' experience in property development, real estate, planning, construction, or a related field (graduates with relevant placement/internship experience will also be considered)

•     Degree in a relevant discipline such as Real Estate, Property Development, Planning, Surveying, Construction Management, or similar (or equivalent experience)

•     Strong numerical and analytical skills, with confidence in financial modelling and appraisals (Excel proficiency essential)

•     Good understanding of, or strong interest in, the UK planning system and development process

•     Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

•     Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

•     A proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to learn

•     Full UK driving license, with willingness to travel to sites in the UK and Ireland using personal vehicle as required – costs will be reimbursed at 55p per mile for the first 10,000 miles and 25p thereafter

•     Interest in or experience within the self-storage, logistics, or wider real estate sectors is a plus
