## Description

As our new Systems Accountant you will be responsible for supporting, maintaining and improving Microsoft D365 and related systems, to ensure they operate effectively and efficiently. The role acts as a key link between Finance, our D365 Tech team and wider business users, helping to optimise processes, improve reporting, support system upgrades, and ensure high-quality financial data. 

Key Responsibilities  

Process Improvement 

-   Identify opportunities to improve finance processes through automation, system enhancements and better use of existing tools.   

-   Document system processes, controls and procedures clearly and accurately. 

Finance Systems Management 

-   Work with our D365 technical team to ensure the core finance system is operating as per business requirements.  

-   Support system upgrades, patches, testing and implementation of new functionality.   

-   Ensure financial systems are operating in line with internal controls, audit requirements and data governance standards. 

Business Support & Training 

-   Act as a key point of contact for finance system users, providing support and guidance.   

-   Deliver training to new and existing users on finance systems and processes.   

-   Translate business requirements into system solutions, working closely with Finance and the D365 technical team 

Projects 

-   Support finance transformation projects, system implementations and integration work.   

-   Participate in testing, including user acceptance testing, regression testing and issue tracking.   

-   Liaise with software providers, consultants and D365 technical teams where required 

What we’re looking for… 

-   Part-qualified or qualified accountant, e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent experience.   

-   Experience working with finance systems in a medium or large organisation.   

-   Strong understanding of core finance processes, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reporting and month-end close.   

-   Advanced Excel skills.   

-   Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.   

-   Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.   

-   Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance colleagues.   

-   Experience supporting system changes, testing or process improvements.
