## Description

**1 Resource Group** is seeking a skilled **Manual Machinist** to join our client's machine shop team in Vidor, TX The ideal candidate will have experience operating conventional machine tools, performing precision machining, welding, metalizing, and equipment repair. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality work while maintaining a safe work environment.

## Requirements

-   Observe all Safety procedures and use proper protective gear (especially eye and ear protection).
-   Record all data necessary to produce expected service and/or design results, including sizing’s and illustrations.
-   Use measuring devices and techniques correctly to assure proper sizing’s. 
-   Perform milling operations such as drilling, tapping, boring and conventional milling and lathe work, using various engine lathes (e.g., horizontal and vertical mills and horizontal boring mills).
-   Perform various metalizing (metal spraying) and spray welding techniques as needed. 
-   Understand materials and applications as required.
-   Perform various welding operations, including setup and use of MIG, TIG, torch and stick welders. 
-   Set up and perform tool-post grinding operations (e.g., precision surface facing), broaching procedures, and Babbitt bearing work.
-   Use various hand-held and stationary power and non-power tolls, including but not limited to band saws, belt sanders, hand grinders, files, etc.
-   Lift, tighten, adjust and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work and/or to observe safety precautions.
-   Assist other machinist in department with skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by supervisor and shop manager.
-   Assist other shop departments with skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by supervisor and shop manager. 
-   Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by supervisor. 

  
$25.00-$32.00 HR DOE  

**Qualifications:**

-   High School diploma, plus trade school, vocational/technical school, military, or on-the-job training and/or certifications.
-   Laser alignment and field balancing ability preferred, but not required.
