## Description

**Saalex** is seeking a **Journeyman System and Server Administrator** in **Point Mugu, CA**. Saalex is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services.

**Position Type:** Full-Time

**Salary:** $90k-$115k annually (depending on experience)

**Work Location:** Onsite. Point Mugu, CA.

The Journeyman System and Server Administrator supports day‑to‑day system operations across Linux and Windows environments. The role will support a team lead under the Product Team that is responsible for command patching, complex troubleshooting, cybersecurity initiatives, patch management, bash scripting and containerization.

**Essential Functions:**

-   Linux & Windows System Administration

-   Administer RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, including user management, system monitoring, and troubleshooting
-   Support Microsoft Windows Server (2016 or later) and Windows 10/11 client environments
-   Perform imaging, provisioning, and lifecycle support for client systems

-   Cybersecurity & Compliance

-   Apply routine security patches and updates across server and client systems
-   Assist with vulnerability mitigation and compliance activities
-   Follow cybersecurity policies, STIGs, and baseline configurations

-   Automation & Scripting

-   Develop and maintain basic automation scripts using:
-   Bash (Linux)
-   PowerShell (Windows)

-   Containerization & Storage

-   Support containerized environments 
-   Perform routine Network Attached Storage (NAS) administration and maintenance

-   Networking Fundamentals

-   Apply foundational networking knowledge to troubleshoot high‑volume data transfers
-   Support network services in coordination with senior engineers  
    

-   Other duties as assigned

## Requirements

**Required:**

-   5+ years of hands‑on system administration experience.
-   Strong experience with both Linux (RHEL) and Microsoft environments.
-   Working knowledge of patching, sustainment, and cybersecurity compliance.

  
**Education:**

-   High School Diploma or GED required.

**Security Clearance:**

-   Active Top Secret required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
