## Description

Peter Lucas Project Management is seeking an experienced Production Lead Engineer for a permanent opportunity near Kamloops, British Columbia.

This is an opportunity to take on a technical leadership role as an underground mining operation transitions into full production. You will help shape production strategies, lead mine planning initiatives, and contribute to the long-term success of the operation.

Responsibilities

-   Lead underground production planning and scheduling to support safe, efficient, and sustainable mining operations.
-   Support the transition from mine development into full production, ensuring operational readiness and achievement of production targets.
-   Develop and optimize mining sequences, extraction plans, and production schedules for the block cave operation.
-   Monitor production performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance productivity and equipment utilization.
-   Collaborate with Operations, Geology, Geotechnical, Maintenance, and other technical teams to coordinate production activities.
-   Prepare production forecasts, performance reports, and operational updates for site leadership.
-   Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Mine Engineers and Engineers-in-Training.
-   Support budgeting, resource planning, and long-term mine production strategies.
-   Promote a strong safety culture and ensure engineering activities align with regulatory requirements and operational standards.

**Salary: $125,000–$155,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates moving to the Kamloops area.**

## Requirements

-   Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

-   Experience in underground mining operations, with a strong background in production planning and mine engineering.
-   Experience supporting underground mine development, production ramp-up, or established production operations.
-   Knowledge of underground mining methods, production scheduling, and mine design.
-   Experience with block cave mining operations is considered a strong asset.
-   Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
-   Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
-   Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC is preferred.
