**Team Overview:**

·         As EDC aims to be the leader in helping all Canadian exporters go, grow, and succeed internationally, the **Digital Platform Delivery & Architecture** (DPDA) group in EDC plays a critical role in enabling leaders to leverage technologies by providing an easy-to-use, secure and fit-for-purpose digital business platform.

·         To better position ourselves for success, the Digital Business Platforms group is seeking a **Sr Software Engineer** to implement the strategic technology vision by building an effective platform that supports the needs of EDC now and in the future. This role is accountable for the hands-on design, build, support, and operations of the Working Capital Solutions group. The primary focus will be developing the Web applications along with integration capabilities, expanding support for integration patterns, maintaining an integration catalogue, promoting the use of the platform, and monitoring and tuning the platform to maximize the effectiveness of all the technology teams at EDC.

·         The ideal candidate will leverage their experience to guide solutions and provide mentorship and technical leadership. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are required to collaborate with the team and stakeholders to translate big plans into achievable timelines and incremental deliverables. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and hands-on development, enabling them to align designs to EDC's architecture standards and advance API management, API design patterns and development standards.

**What this role is and is not:** This is a hands-on full-stack developer role with some upfront solution design and architecture responsibilities. Most of your time will be spent building, integrating, and delivering enterprise-grade applications. This is not a pure architecture, consulting, or technical lead position; successful candidates enjoy both shaping solutions and writing code.

**What you will be doing:**

·         Leverage strong full-stack software engineering expertise across React, Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, .NET, APIs, cloud services, and modern DevOps practices to design, build, and operate Agentic SDLC Operating System.

·         Embed AI-assisted development into delivery workflows, leveraging tools like GitHub Copilot, Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise, and Azure Foundry capabilities to improve developer experience and delivery efficiency.

·         Reviews systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts created by other teams to provide direction and advice in areas related to Front-End, API, integration, and DevOps.

·         Work with the design team to understand UI/UX requirements, ensure technical feasibility, and implement.

·         Contribute high-quality code, conduct code reviews, and ensure the codebase's maintainability and quality.

·         Design the target state by partnering with analysts, architects, developers, testers and release leads to identify delivery effort, bottlenecks and rework; prioritize high-value agent use cases; and clearly identify activities that should not be automated.

·         Support Technical Community of Practice activities such as knowledge-sharing, development of standards and being involved in the hiring process.

·         Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections, and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view.

·         Implement secure retrieval across authorized work items, source repositories, design records and meeting records, enforcing source-level access based on each agent’s identity.

·         Implement hands-on integrations with source control, work tracking, CI/CD pipelines, testing platforms and telemetry services.

**What we are looking for:**

**Education**: Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field.

**Professional Experience:**

·         8+ years of hands-on full-stack software engineering experience delivering enterprise-scale production systems, including web applications, APIs, microservices, integrations, and cloud-native solutions, with strong coding, testing, and release discipline.

**Technical Expertise**

·         Strong full-stack development expertise across modern front-end and back-end technologies, including Angular, React, .NET, APIs, microservices, integration patterns, and cloud-native architectures.

·         Experience using GitHub Copilot and modern developer platforms as engineering systems of record, including pull request workflows, code reviews, branching strategies, repository governance, automation, and engineering telemetry.

·         Proven experience with enterprise technology deployment using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

·         Experience designing, building, and integrating AI-enabled developer experiences, AI agents, copilots, into enterprise software delivery workflows.

·         Strong experience with cloud architecture, identity, networking, platform engineering, and security controls, ensuring AI and software delivery solutions align with enterprise governance, risk, privacy, and compliance requirements.

·         Experience creating reusable engineering assets, frameworks, standards, reference implementations, templates, and accelerator patterns that enable adoption across multiple teams and product portfolios.

**Advanced Knowledge**

·         Enterprise application architecture, distributed systems, microservices, API-first design, and event-driven integration patterns.

·         Web services and integration technologies, including REST, JSON, SOAP, OpenAPI, and enterprise integration frameworks.

·         Identity and access management, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Entra ID/Azure AD, workload identities, and secure application authentication.

**What will make you stand out:**

·         Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and its relevant build, deployment, automation, integration, DevOps, networking, and security technologies in cloud and hybrid environments.

·         Demonstrated experience in managing integration design patterns and practices. including API virtualization, resilient event driven architecture and asynchronous processing.

·         Hands-on experience with Security scanning tools.

·         Design skills, e.g., working with Figma or similar design tools.

**Eligibility:**

EDC is committed to Fair Employment Practices and preference will be given to a candidate who is able to work legally in Canada **at the time of application** (Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents). Candidates must meet the requisite government security screening requirements. The position is open to those who meet all of the essential requirements stated above and whose applications are received by the closing date.
