## Description

We are looking to hire a **Quantum Control Designer** to design, model and test high-fidelity quantum operations. Passionate about helping create technologies which can change the world? What You’ll Accomplish 

-   Design control methods for high-fidelity and fast quantum operations  

-   Contribute to the development of accurate physics models based on real hardware specifications 

-   Work with the hardware teams to implement new methods on our quantum devices 

-   Develop procedures for benchmarking quantum operations 

-   Analyse experimental results and compare them against theoretical predictions and models

## Requirements

**The 3 Most Critical Attributes We’ll Use to Compare Candidates:** 

1.  Experience in designing control methods for high-fidelity quantum operations 
2.  Strong background in the theory of light-matter interactions and modelling quantum dynamics in software 
3.  A proven track record of collaboration with experimental research groups and/or the quantum hardware industry 

Must-have Skills (in addition to the above):

-   Experience with circuit-level quantum noise models and benchmarking of quantum operations 

-   Proficient in writing scientific code, e.g. using Python 

-   PhD in quantum computing, quantum control or similar 

-   Excellent written and oral communication skills, with published results in the field of research. 
-   This role can be based in Hamburg or worked remotely, but you must be based in Germany for this position.

Nice-to-have Skills 

-   Experience with quantum gates in ion trap devices 
-   Qiskit
