## Description

We're looking for an inspiring employment & skills **Community Programmes Manager** to lead the delivery and development of impactful community employment & skills services across Calderdale. This is an exciting opportunity to join **Newground Together**, where you'll lead high-performing teams, build influential partnerships and shape services that improve lives and strengthen communities.

This is a varied leadership role where no two days are the same. You'll work closely with colleagues, local authorities, funders, community organisations and Together Housing Group to deliver innovative programmes, secure new funding opportunities and ensure employment services continue to meet the changing needs of local people.

## Requirements

### _Outline of Key responsibilities in the role..._

-   Leading, motivating and developing Community Programmes Coordinators and frontline to deliver high-quality employment & skills community services.
-   Building and maintaining strong strategic partnerships with local authorities, funders, community organisations and external stakeholders.
-   Driving continuous improvement, ensuring services remain innovative, customer-led and deliver measurable outcomes.
-   Developing business plans, monitoring operational performance and implementing service improvements.
-   Managing budgets, monitoring expenditure and ensuring excellent financial governance.
-   Identifying and securing external funding opportunities while supporting the development of funding bids and commercial opportunities.
-   Championing customer engagement, ensuring programmes reflect the needs of local communities and national priorities.
-   Supporting the safe and effective management of community hubs and delivery venues, ensuring compliance with health and safety, safeguarding and statutory requirements.
-   Working collaboratively across Together Housing Group and Newground Together to maximise opportunities and strengthen community outcomes.
-   Representing Newground Together professionally, promoting its values and building its reputation across Calderdale.

### _We are looking for someone who has..._                                                                                                              

-   Experience leading and developing high-performing employment teams within community, charity or public sector services.
-   Experience managing community-based programmes and delivering positive outcomes for local people.
-   A proven track record of developing strategic partnerships and influencing a wide range of stakeholders.
-   Experience managing budgets, financial planning and securing external funding or grant income.
-   Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop others.
-   Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
-   A sound understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, GDPR and equality, diversity and inclusion.
-   Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive continuous improvement.
-   Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM or case management systems.
-   A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.
-   Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to meet service requirements.

## Benefits

### _**In return, we are offering the successful candidate in the Community Programmes Manager role…**_

-   **Starting Salary of £50,636**
-   27 days annual leave (rising to 32 over 5 years’ service) + bank holidays
-   This is a **37-hour per week** role, worked between **8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday**, with occasional evening and weekend working to meet the needs of the service.
-   You'll benefit from a **hybrid working arrangement**, spending approximately **40% of your time working from home** and **60% working from the office, community hubs and partner locations**. You can expect to attend your designated office base **around three days per week**, with additional travel across our communities and partner sites as required.
