We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing various mechanical devices that will be vital in developing machinery and/or large structures. We are looking to add someone to our team who is a lateral thinker, able to navigate complexity and embrace ambiguity. It is crucial that our Mechanical Designer promote a positive company image through safety, quality, consistency, and professionalism.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

-   Work on a variety of custom projects which include items such as conveyors, platforms and other components used primarily in the food and pharma industries
-   Using layout diagrams, sketches, and notes to create 3D drawings of equipment
-   Participate in Kickoff meetings, liaise with Project Managers, and other stakes holders to ensure project success throughout the project
-   Taking ownership of projects, sticking with them from concept to design, fabrication, and installation
-   Develop extensive knowledge of product line, preferred practices, and all applicable industry standards
-   Regularly communicate project status with key stakeholders
-   Lead and contribute to product development, product realization and continuous improvement projects by working cross functionally with the Innovation and Manufacturing groups.

## Requirements

-   College Diploma / University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar preferred
-   Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Mechanical Design experience, preferably in a custom manufacturing environment
-   Proficient in Solidworks (or similar 3D software) and AutoCAD
-   Working knowledge of Solidworks PDM preferred
-   Design experience with exposure to structural and or stainless steel product
-   Familiar with working with weldment functions, sheet metal functionality within a 3D software
-   Ideally have had experience working with conveyor systems and or sanitary equipment used in the food industry
-   Good communication skills with the ability to work with engineering teammates and shop floor staff

**Hourly Wage For The Role: $36.00 - $45.00**

The salary range provided in this posting is intended as a general guideline. Final compensation will be determined based on a number of factors, including a candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location, as well as internal equity and budget considerations.
