About the Workforce Intelligence Lab (WIL)  
  
The Workforce Intelligence Lab (WIL) is an applied workforce research initiative focused on construction labor markets, workforce planning systems, compensation intelligence, labor scarcity analysis, and operational workforce visibility. WIL develops workforce intelligence frameworks and regional labor market analysis for operational decision-making across the construction industry. The lab synthesizes publicly available labor data, compensation trends, contractor growth indicators, workforce demand signals, and construction activity into workforce intelligence systems for construction firms and industry operators.

We engage experienced practitioners for both full-time employment and project-based contract roles, as applicable to the award and staffing model. Engagements are remote-first with travel as required for partner and field sites. We build ready teams for live grant and sponsored-research pursuits.  
  
This opportunity is contingent upon grant or sponsored-project award and final staffing approval. Permission will be requested before including a candidate's name or resume in a proposal or funding package.  
  
About the role  
  
WIL is seeking Research Fellows interested in applied workforce research, labor market analysis, workforce analytics, and operational workforce intelligence focused on the construction industry. This fellowship is for graduate students, PhD candidates, early-career researchers, analysts, and analytically oriented professionals interested in workforce systems, labor market visibility, compensation analysis, and operational workforce planning.  
  
Research Fellows contribute to labor market analysis, workforce analytics, compensation benchmarking, workforce planning systems, labor scarcity indicators, workforce intelligence methodologies, operational workforce visibility, dashboard validation, and regional workforce intelligence reporting.  
  
The current fellowship shape is flexible and remote, structured around approximately 3–5 hours per week. Full-time employment or a larger project-based contract may be scoped when an award calls for it.  
  
What you'll do  
  
Support workforce intelligence research initiatives  
Assist with labor market and compensation analysis  
Contribute to workforce intelligence reports and publications  
Participate in workforce intelligence framework development  
Research publicly available labor market and workforce data sources  
Support workforce analytics and operational labor visibility initiatives  
Assist with dashboard validation and workforce indicator analysis  
Contribute to methodology documentation and workforce intelligence interpretation

## Requirements

Required  
  
Interest and some demonstrated work in labor economics, workforce analytics, operations research, industrial engineering, applied economics, statistics, data analytics, public policy, construction management, business analytics, urban planning, supply chain and operations, or data science  
Graduate students, PhD candidates, early-career researchers, and analytically oriented professionals are encouraged to apply  
Open to full-time employment or project-based contract engagement; remote-first with travel as partner and field work requires  
  
Nice to have  
  
Comfort with publicly available labor-market and compensation data  
Interest in construction workforce intelligence rather than purely theoretical research  
Ability to contribute about 3–5 flexible remote hours per week on the fellowship track
