## Description

**Purpose:** Responsible for parts set up and operating ultra-precision CNC machining centers, including fly cutting, micro-EDM, and CNC surface/profile grinding equipment, to manufacture ultra precision components according to engineering drawings, specifications and process routings. Performs machine adjustments, first-article verification, in-process inspections, basic preventive maintenance, and monitors process performance to ensure product quality, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety requirements.

**Key Area of Responsibilities:**

-   Input, verify, and inspect machining programs to ensure production part planning requirements are met.
-   Perform machine setup, tool movement verification, and test runs to ensure program and equipment readiness.
-   Mount, align, and secure workpieces using approved fixtures, magnetic chucks, and precision tooling according to setup specifications.
-   Carry out basic on-machine programming, program editing, offset setting, and parameter adjustments during setup and testing.
-   Monitor tooling, consumables, coolant systems, and machine conditions to ensure optimal performance.
-   Troubleshoot process issues and perform preventive maintenance and calibration to maintain equipment reliability and accuracy.
-   To ensure proper 5S housekeeping practices at all times.
-   To ensure comply with WSH regulations at all times.

## Requirements

-   Hands-on experience operating high-precision machines such as LT ULTRA, Sarix MicroEDM, BLOHM grinding machines, or equivalent systems is advantageous.
-   Familiarity with automated workpiece handling systems such as Erowa palletizing or robotic cells is advantageous
-   Familiarity with CNC controls (e.g., Siemens SINUMERIK) and basic program/offset handling is advantageous
-   Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
-   Proficient in using precision measuring instruments
-   Understanding of machine calibration procedures and basic mechanical/electrical troubleshooting
-   Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
-   Knowledge of quality control methods and inspection requirements in ultra‑precision environments.
-   Knowledge of workplace safety procedures, including lockout/tagout practices and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
