**About the role...**

We are currently seeking an **Interoperability Data Engineer** to join our team. The successful candidate will work in a multinational environment on a multitude of tasks supporting our business in implementing and developing solutions for large EU and international institutions and private sector companies in Greece and abroad.

  

**What you will do...**

-   Design and implement scalable data architectures that integrate multiple health data sources.
-   Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines and interoperability solutions.
-   Develop canonical data models and metadata harmonization frameworks.
-   Design APIs, middleware, and event-driven architectures for health information systems.
-   Support deployment of interoperable digital health platforms across cloud and on-premise environments.
-   Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with data protection standards.
-   Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate public health and epidemiological requirements into technical solutions.
-   Lead architectural design decisions and support the scaling of digital health solutions.

  

**Technical Skills required...**

-   BSc's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or another relevant field.
-   8+ years of experience in Software Architecture and Data Engineering.
-   4+ years of experience working with Public Health Information Systems.
-   Strong experience with DHIS2, SORMAS, Go.Data, OpenELIS, or similar health platforms.
-   Expertise in FHIR, HL7, ICD-11, LOINC, and SNOMED CT.
-   Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, and relational databases.
-   Experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines, interoperability middleware, APIs, and data integration solutions.
-   Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and on-premise deployments.
-   Strong understanding of data protection, GDPR, RBAC, pseudonymization, and audit logging.
-   Experience with AI/LLM-assisted data integration and harmonization is a plus.
-   Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal;
-   Proficient in MS Office suite;

  

_Experience in the following will be considered as an asset_:

-   WHO SMART Guidelines and Digital Adaptation Kits (DAKs).
-   OpenHIE architecture and interoperability frameworks.
-   Health Informatics or Data Science specialization.
-   HL7 FHIR, DHIS2, SORMAS, or other health platform certifications.
-   Leading engineering teams and large-scale digital health deployments.
-   Outbreak surveillance, epidemiological analytics, and public health data modelling.
