## Description

We are seeking an exceptionally organized, clinical, and detail-oriented **Virtual Medical Assistant & Patient Care Coordinator** with a background as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to manage high-volume case files for our multi-specialty practice (Orthopedics, Pain Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehab, and Neurology).

This is an advanced clinical support position that goes far beyond basic scheduling or data entry. You will leverage your nursing background to handle complex case management, navigate intricate insurance workflows (including Commercial, Personal Injury, and Workers' Comp), and deliver seamless, compassionate cross-channel communication to our patients and legal partners.

**Schedule:** Full-Time, 40 hours per week | Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST (US Eastern Standard Time)  

**Main Daily Tasks**

-   **Phone Operations & Patient Care Communication:** Managing inbound and outbound calls, texts, and emails with a professional, clinically grounded presence.
-   **Insurance Operations:** Executing verifications, prior authorizations, and benefits tracking across Commercial, Personal Injury (PI), and Workers' Compensation plans.
-   **Complex Case Support:** Managing Workers' Comp and Personal Injury case files, maintaining meticulous chart details, and coordinating provider schedules.  
    

**Core Responsibilities**

-   **Clinical Case File Management:** Review, organize, and manage complex patient case files, utilizing clinical judgment to understand treatment plans, provider notes, and case context.
-   **Specialized Insurance Navigation:** Verify coverage, track authorizations, and manage documentation across Commercial plans, Personal Injury (PI) claims, and Workers' Compensation cases.
-   **Patient & Provider Coordination:** Manage multi-channel communications (phone, email, text), schedule consultations, and maintain provider calendars to keep daily clinical workflows running smoothly.
-   **Medical-Legal Alignment:** Maintain clear, audit-ready chart records and coordinate seamlessly with external administrative partners, legal firms, and insurance adjusters.

## Requirements

Must-Have / Required Qualifications

-   **Clinical License/Degree:** Registered Nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) background (non-negotiable).
-   **Clinical Experience:** Minimum 3 years of hospital or acute care nursing experience.
-   **Virtual Assistant Experience:** Minimum 2 years of experience as a Virtual Medical Assistant or Remote Patient Care Coordinator.
-   **Language & Region Requirements:**

-   **English-Only Candidates:** Based in the Philippines with fluent, clear, and professional spoken/written English.
-   **Bilingual Candidates:** Based in LATAM (Latin America) with fluent English and Spanish (spoken/written).

-   **Insurance Expertise:** Hands-on experience verifying and processing Commercial Insurance, Personal Injury (PI), and Workers' Compensation (Work Comp) claims.
-   **Technical Skills:** Strong proficiency in calendar management, multi-channel messaging (phone/text/email), and electronic health record management.  
    

**Nice-to-Have / Preferred Qualifications**

-   **EMR Proficiency:** Direct experience using **eClinicalWorks (eCW)**.
-   **Specialty Exposure:** Clinical background or prior VA experience in **Orthopedics, Pain Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehab (PM&R), or Neurology**.
-   **Medical-Legal Background:** Prior experience working with or supporting a medical-legal firm or medico-legal documentation workflow.
