## Description

**Job Overview**

We are seeking an energetic, high-performing Insurance Specialist / Medical Receptionist with a background in Orthopedics, Neurology, or Pain Medicine. This is a high-volume, phone-centric role designed for a cheery, upbeat professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This is not a traditional administrative position—it requires strong skills in inbound/outbound call conversion, managing prior authorizations, navigating Commercial and Personal Injury (PIP/Workers' Comp) insurance, and working efficiently in eClinicalWorks (eCW).

**Core Responsibilities**

- **High-Volume Call Management:** Primary function involves handling a heavy daily volume of inbound and outbound calls—including new patient inquiries, follow-ups, missed opportunities, and reaching out to inactive patients.
- **Patient Conversion & Scheduling:** Convert patient inquiries into scheduled appointments; follow up consistently and proactively until conversion is achieved.
- **Full Insurance Verification Cycle:** Execute end-to-end insurance verification—checking active coverage, interpreting plan details, calculating patient responsibility (deductibles, copays, coinsurance, OOP maximums), and clearly explaining financials to patients over the phone.
- **Prior Authorizations & Claims:** Confidently secure prior authorizations and navigate Commercial plans (HMO/PPO, Aetna, Cigna, Humana) as well as Personal Injury (PIP/Workers' Comp) cases.
- **EHR & Workflow Management:** Manage calendars, scheduling, and thorough follow-up documentation utilizing eClinicalWorks (eCW).
- **Relationship Building:** Establish strong rapport with patients and referral sources (attorneys, physicians) while supporting practice growth.

## Requirements

**EHR Requirement:** **At least 1 year of hands-on experience using eClinicalWorks (eCW)** is strictly required.

**Specialty Background:** Prior experience working in **Orthopedics, Neurology, or Pain Medicine**.

**Insurance Expertise:** Hands-on experience managing the **full insurance verification cycle**, securing **prior authorizations**, and handling both **Commercial insurances and Personal Injury (PIP/Workers' Comp)** claims.

**Phone & Conversion Skills:** Proven track record handling high-volume medical calls in a metrics-driven environment with a clear, confident, and warm English phone presence.

**Work Ethic:** Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable with performance-based accountability.

**Please note that this is a full-time contractor position (40 hours per week) with a starting pay rate of $6 per hour, depending on skill set and experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, Eastern Time Zone.**
