**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced **Nuclear Medicine Technologist** for a travel assignment in Columbus, Ohio.

This position is ideal for a technologist with hands-on experience in both **PET/CT and General Nuclear Medicine** who is comfortable caring for inpatient and outpatient populations in a busy acute-care environment.

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform diagnostic imaging procedures, administer radiopharmaceuticals within scope, establish IV access, operate imaging equipment, and ensure accurate image acquisition and documentation.

Candidates must hold current **ARRT or NMTCB certification**, an active Ohio license, and current BLS certification.

**Key Responsibilities**

·        Perform General Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT imaging procedures.

·        Prepare patients for diagnostic nuclear medicine examinations.

·        Verify patient identity, procedure orders, and relevant clinical information.

·        Administer radiopharmaceuticals according to physician orders and established protocols.

·        Establish peripheral IV access as needed.

·        Position patients accurately for imaging studies.

·        Operate PET/CT and nuclear medicine imaging equipment safely and efficiently.

·        Acquire high-quality images while following established imaging protocols.

·        Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.

·        Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate concerns appropriately.

·        Maintain accurate documentation of administered radiopharmaceuticals and procedures.

·        Utilize PACS and applicable imaging systems.

·        Follow radiation-safety procedures for patients, staff, and the public.

·        Maintain compliance with radioactive-material handling and disposal requirements.

·        Perform appropriate quality-control procedures on imaging equipment.

·        Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

·        Provide compassionate care and explain procedures clearly to patients.

·        Support both inpatient and outpatient imaging workflows.

·        Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and departmental standards.

**Required Experience**

Candidates must have:

·        Recent **Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience**

·        Hands-on **PET/CT experience**

·        General Nuclear Medicine experience

·        Experience with **inpatient and outpatient populations**

·        IV-start experience

·        PACS experience

·        Strong knowledge of radiation safety

·        Ability to work independently in a busy imaging department

·        Strong patient-care and communication skills

**Required Certifications & Licensure**

Candidates must have:

·        Current **ARRT certification** in an applicable Nuclear Medicine pathway

**or**

·        Current **NMTCB – Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board certification**

·        Active **Ohio Nuclear Medicine / Radiologic license** as required for practice

·        Current **BLS certification**

All required credentials must remain current throughout the assignment.

**Preferred Qualifications**

Strong candidates may also have:

·        Extensive PET/CT experience

·        Hospital-based Nuclear Medicine experience

·        Previous travel or contract experience

·        Experience with a high-volume imaging department

·        Advanced nuclear cardiology experience

·        Experience with oncology PET imaging

·        Experience working across multiple imaging modalities

·        Strong familiarity with electronic imaging and documentation systems

**Key Technical Skills**

Successful candidates should be comfortable with:

**Schedule Requirements**

·        **Day Shift**

·        **Five 8-hour shifts per week**

·        **40 hours per week**

·        Monday through Friday

·        Start times may vary depending on department coverage

Possible weekday start times may include:

·        6:00 AM

·        6:30 AM

·        7:00 AM

·        7:30 AM

·        8:00 AM

·        8:30 AM

·        9:30 AM

Candidates must be flexible regarding scheduled start times.

**Additional Schedule Requirements**

·        Approximately **one evening shift per month**

·        Approximately **one Saturday per month**

·        Optional 10-hour shifts may be available during holiday weeks

·        Otherwise, the position follows a steady weekday schedule

**Ideal Candidate**
