## Description

AlphaGov (Casa Moon LLC d/b/a AlphaGov) delivers public-sector consulting for cities, counties, school systems, special districts, utilities, and related agencies. Our work spans classification and compensation, organizational and operational studies, research and program evaluation, economic and workforce analysis, surveys and community research, and applied data and infrastructure research.

We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. When you authorize it, AlphaGov may name you as an expert collaborator or key personnel on proposals that match your expertise. We build ready teams for live pursuits — not speculative staffing banks.

This opportunity is contingent upon contract award and final staffing approval. Permission will be requested before including a candidate's name or resume in a proposal.

AlphaGov is seeking an experienced classification and compensation professional with public transit agency experience to lead or support job classification studies for large transit authorities. You would bring point-factor job evaluation, job description, and market-pricing expertise for bus, rail, maintenance, operations, and administrative job families.

What you'll do:
\- Lead job analysis: position questionnaires, employee and supervisor interviews, and job description updates for hundreds of positions
\- Apply point-factor or similar job evaluation methods and build or refine classification structures and job families
\- Benchmark transit-specific jobs (operators, mechanics, dispatch, safety, engineering, administration) against peer transit agencies
\- Support employee communication, appeals, and implementation planning
\- Present findings to executive leadership and governing boards
\- Contribute qualifications and past-performance narrative to AlphaGov proposals when permissioned

## Requirements

Required:

- Seven or more years in classification and compensation, including large public-sector or transit employers
- Hands-on point-factor job evaluation and job description writing for large position inventories
- Experience benchmarking jobs and building classification structures and pay ranges
- Strong written and presentation skills for executives and boards
- Comfortable as a 1099 / project-based collaborator with travel as needed

Nice to have:

- HR, classification, or compensation role at a transit authority (for example DART, Metro, MTA, KCATA, or similar)
- Experience with represented and non-represented transit workforces
- CCP or SPHR / SHRM-SCP certification
- Experience with Texas public employers
