## Description

FairMoney is a credit-led mobile bank for emerging markets. The company was launched in 2017, operates in Nigeria & India, and raised close to €50m from global investors like Tiger Global, DST & Flourish Ventures.

You will be working as a Software Engineer (Identity) in our Technology Division, which is now composed of 75+ people in Lagos, Bangalore, Paris, Türkiye, and remotely across the globe.

We are building Engineering centres of excellence across multiple regions and are looking for smart, talented, driven engineers. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the core engineering team of a fast-growing fintech poised for more rapid growth in the coming years.

As a **Software Engineer (Identity)** at FairMoney, you will work as part of our Identity engineering squad, building reliable and scalable systems that support identity verification, KYC, authentication, and other critical customer onboarding processes.

You will contribute to backend projects, collaborate with other engineers and cross-functional teams, and help deliver secure, high-quality solutions. You will also have the opportunity to use AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to improve productivity and software delivery.

### **We are looking forward to having you work on:**

· Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining backend systems for Identity, KYC, authentication, and related services;

· Contributing to technical projects from development through deployment and maintenance;

· Building and supporting reliable distributed systems and backend services;

· Working closely with Product, Risk, Compliance, and other engineering teams to deliver effective identity and KYC solutions;

· Participating in code reviews and contributing to engineering standards and best practices;

· Identifying and resolving performance, scalability, reliability, and security issues;

· Using AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to improve productivity and delivery.

### **🔧 Our Technical Stack**

· Our customer-facing product is an Android application;

· It communicates with Ruby on Rails or Go-lang backends (Sidekiq, RSpec);

· Our ML pipeline is API-Flask (Python);

· We are hosted on AWS: Kubernetes, SNS, SQS, Lambdas, RDS Aurora MySQL and PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, S3, and Kinesis;

· Prototype of a data warehouse on GCP (GCS, BigQuery, Cloud Composer);

· We run our CI/CD pipeline with GitHub Actions.

## Requirements

**Basic Qualifications**

· 4+ years of professional experience in backend software development;

· Experience building backend services and working with distributed systems;

· Experience working with Go, or strong experience in another backend language with a willingness to transition to Go;

· Good understanding of software engineering principles, system design, testing, CI/CD, and production operations;

· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail;

· Good verbal and written communication skills;

· Experience working effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.

**Preferred Qualifications**

· Experience working in Identity, KYC, authentication, fraud prevention, onboarding, or related domains;

· Experience in fintech, banking, payments, or other financial services environments;

· Experience with Go and Go-based backend systems;

· Familiarity with microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems;

· Experience working with AWS or other major cloud platforms;

· Experience using AI coding assistants, LLM-based developer tools, or AI-assisted development workflows.
