## Description

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian nationals for the positions below at the Institute’s Headquarters in Ibadan.

**Position:        Mechanic II**

**Contract:**       3-years renewable contract                                           

**Location: Ibadan**

**Closing date: 29 June 2026**

**DUTIES:** 

-   Carry out planned preventive and breakdown maintenance of all water treatment, swimming pools, sewage systems, water treatment plant equipment and pump stations.
-   Perform general repairs and maintenance functional mechanical workshop and proper handling of tools.
-   Carry out washing of reservoirs, painting and assembling of parts.
-   Conduct routine maintenance of water treatment plant (WTP).
-   Perform any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

## Requirements

**QUALIFICATION:**

OND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience, or Trade Test 1, 2, 3 with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment.

**COMPETENCIES:**

The ideal candidate must have:

-   Sound technical and mechanical maintenance skills
-   Strong preventive maintenance capabilities
-   Effective technical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
-   High level of attention to detail and accuracy in task execution.
