## Description

**Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) – Iowa**

**Location:** Iowa  
**Work Setting:** Remote / Telehealth  
**Position:** Full-Time  
**Salary:** $115,000–$120,000 per year with full benefits  
**Schedule:** Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

**The Work**

As an LMHC, you’ll provide virtual counseling to Iowa clients who are dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, personal setbacks, or other concerns that are making everyday life more difficult. You’ll have a regular schedule of appointments and enough independence to manage the clinical side of your work without being tied to an office. The focus is on thoughtful counseling, reliable follow-through, and keeping each client’s information properly documented.

**What You’ll Be Responsible For**

-   Hold one-on-one counseling appointments through secure video
-   Learn about the issues each client wants to address and what has been affecting them
-   Provide counseling appropriate to the client’s situation and level of need
-   Complete required notes and keep electronic records in good order
-   Pay attention to significant changes in mood, behavior, or functioning
-   Take appropriate action when safety concerns come up
-   Consult or coordinate with others when a client needs services beyond counseling
-   Protect client privacy and maintain professional boundaries
-   Meet Iowa LMHC licensing, ethical, and telehealth requirements

## Requirements

-   Active Iowa  LMHC license in good standing
-   Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
-   Experience providing therapy or counseling services
-   Strong understanding of assessments, treatment planning, and documentation
-   Strong communication and time management skills
