## Description

We are in an exciting phase of growth and are seeking a Mechanical Engineer who is passionate about designing, selecting, and commissioning key process equipment and structural components to bring carbon capture projects from concept to field deployment.

• Assist in the design and improvement of carbon capture plants.

• Execute mechanical design and calculations for pressure vessels, process piping and mechanical equipment. Carry out mechanical and structural calcultions for skids, support frames, platforms, vessel and pipe supports, baseplates and anchoring.

• 3D modelling and drawings (3D CAD) models for equipment, piping, skids and structures, and preparation of the associated deliverables.

• Procurement and vendor coordination. Preparation of equipment specifications, datasheets, material requisitions and RFQs. Carry out Technical Bid Evaluations and manage technical clarifications with suppliers and fabricators.

• Support Factory Acceptance Testing, inspecting, installation, comissioning and contribute to engineering safety reviews.

• Reporting to Engineering Manager.

## Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent relevant qualification.

• Around 5+ years of relevant experience in process plant, EPC/EPCM or pressure-equipment manufacturing.

• Hands-on experience in pressure vessel mechanical design and calculations.

• Strong process piping design and plant layout experience.

• Strong 3D CAD modelling, with personal experience producing GA, fabrication and assembly drawings, piping layouts and BoMs.

• Mechanical and structural calculations for supports/pipe rack, skids, frames, baseplates and anchoring.

• Experience preparing RFQs, carrying out Technical Bid Evaluations, and reviewing vendor documentation.

• Working knowledge of at least one recognised pressure code (ASME section VIII, EN 13445 or PD 5500) and of ASME B31.3 for piping.

**Desirable**

• Heat exchanger mechanical design and TEMA.

• Pressure-vessel software and structural software experience.

• Modular process plant or skid-mounted equipment design.

• Rotating equipment experience (i.e. pumps, blowers or compressors).

• Factory Acceptance Testing, vendor inspection, site installation and comissioning experience.

• PED / UKCA / CE pressure-equipment conformity experience.
