## Description

KPI Solutions is a systems integrator serving the logistics and supply chain industry, with a focus on material handling, automation, and information systems. The company designs and delivers equipment-agnostic solutions including conveyor, sortation, robotics, ASRS, AGVs, and custom automation to help customers improve their operations.

In this role, you will support electrical controls design and solution development for system integration projects. This is an opportunity to contribute to hardware design and estimation work in a fast-moving environment, helping shape practical, standards-driven solutions that support customer needs and project delivery.

### Responsibilities

-   Work with the Controls group to provide estimation for controls scope.
-   Follow all safety guidelines, wear appropriate PPE, and maintain a safety-first mindset.
-   Follow standards set forth by KPI Solutions.
-   Understand project schedules and scope of work.
-   Understand project requirements, specifications, and equipment functionality.
-   Contribute to the team and adapt effectively to change.
-   Communicate regularly with project managers and controls leadership.
-   Communicate with vendors to negotiate pricing.
-   Maintain high standards and help improve defined processes.
-   Stay current with the latest technologies and best practices.
-   Create electrical controls schematics including wiring diagrams, panel layouts, push-button station layouts, safety circuits, and other hardware-related documents.
-   Visit customer sites to gather information and support project kickoffs or pre-sales reviews.
-   Provide informed estimations of labor and materials.
-   Participate in the development and management of department processes, including CAD library functionality, operating procedures, software tools, and design methods.
-   Maintain current knowledge of electrical and related safety standards as they apply to control panel design, build, machine safety, and machine wiring.
-   Perform other tasks as directed by management.

## Requirements

-   Minimum 3+ years of controls estimation experience, with 8-10 years preferred.

-   Experience with performance management is a plus.

-   Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or trade school equivalent in PLC/Controls Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

-   Experience designing, commissioning, and troubleshooting controls systems using platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, GE, or Square D.

-   Knowledge of industrial controls networks such as Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, or DeviceNet is a plus.

-   Proficiency drafting electrical designs using AutoCAD.
-   Experience coordinating with project managers on assigned projects, coordinating with vendors or third-party suppliers on pricing or project support, and guiding electrical installers or other project support personnel.

**Other Requirements/Comments**

-   Able to travel up to 25% to KPI locations as needed.
