## Description

We are looking for a Distributed Database DevOps Engineer to join our team and support modern database environments across cloud-native and containerised infrastructures. The role focuses on the operational side of distributed data systems, ensuring reliability, scalability, high availability, and automation across production environments. You will work closely with infrastructure and engineering teams to support database deployments, improve operational processes, strengthen platform stability, and contribute to Infrastructure as Code and automation initiatives.

### Key Responsibilities

-   Support the deployment, operation, and maintenance of distributed database systems in production environments
-   Manage and optimise MongoDB environments with a focus on availability, reliability, and scalability
-   Work with Kubernetes-based infrastructure to support database services and containerised workloads
-   Contribute to Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform and/or Ansible
-   Monitor database and infrastructure performance and support incident investigation and resolution
-   Automate operational tasks related to database environments and platform processes
-   Support upgrades, migrations, configuration management, and environment standardisation
-   Collaborate with DevOps, platform, and engineering teams to improve operational efficiency and resilience
-   Contribute to best practices around deployment processes, observability, and system reliability

## Requirements

-   Hands-on experience with **MongoDB in production environments**
-   Experience working with **distributed systems or distributed database architectures**
-   Strong experience in **Linux environments**
-   Experience with **Kubernetes-based infrastructure**
-   Hands-on experience with **Terraform and/or Ansible**
-   Good understanding of **DevOps practices and cloud-native infrastructure concepts**
-   Experience with **automation, configuration management, and operational support**
-   Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
-   Ability to work in collaborative engineering and infrastructure teams
-   Fluency in English

Nice to have:

-   Experience working with **CockroachDB or similar distributed SQL databases**
