## Description

**The Opportunity**

We are a fast-growing digital marketing agency operating in a high-risk vertical within the digital economy. We run a portfolio of around 20 brands and generate just shy of seven figures in revenue every month. We have grown fast, and the finance side of the business has not kept pace.

This is not a statutory accounting or tax role. We already have an accountant and a tax advisor who handle compliance, tax and jurisdiction. This is an operational, management finance role. You exist to tell two non-finance founders, in plain English, whether we are making money, where it is coming from, where it is leaking, and where to act first.

Right now there is no consistent management accounting, no monthly P&L we trust, and our costs are scattered across different payment processors and people's heads. You would be our first real finance hire, walking into a messy starting point. The job is to turn that into something clean, simple, and decision-driving.

We are not looking for comprehensive documents for their own sake. Every number exists to drive a profit decision. Simplicity that drives action beats sophistication that sits in a folder.

**What the role owns**

Financial visibility

\- A single source of financial truth the whole business reports into

\- A reliable monthly close, consistent management accounts, and a real, trusted P&L

\- Cash-flow forecasting, so we know what is coming, not just what happened

Unit Economics and Decision Enablement

\- Break profit down by brand and by channel so we know what actually makes money

\- Turn the numbers into clear inputs the founders, and in time a COO, use to make and verify decisions

\- Quantify the impact of decisions after the fact: did that spend or that change actually move profit

ROI Auditing (line by line)

\- Go through the P&L line by line: staff, traffic, software, subscriptions

\- Identify leaks and low-return spend and feed it back to the team

\- Calculate the return of people, channels and tools in real numbers

Cash Clarity

\- Give the founders a clear read on what is pullable, what is investable, and what each hire actually costs

## Requirements

**Experience**

\- Minimum 10 years in finance, with at least the most recent 5 years at Financial Controller level or equivalent senior finance-leadership level (running the finance function, not a background role). The first years can be junior; the recent years cannot.

\- Experience standing up or overhauling finance reporting and processes, not only operating an established function.

\- Direct experience presenting numbers to founders, directors, owners or a COO, and turning those numbers into decisions and actions. Not a background role producing reports for someone else to interpret.

The Way You Think

\- You explain finance in plain English. Asked how much money we made, you give a number, not a roundabout corporate answer.

\- You are comfortable with ambiguity and a messy starting point. You can take a mess and consolidate it into something clean and simple.

\- Startup, high-growth mindset, not a corporate machine that is already running.

\- You see simplicity as the goal. The numbers exist to drive profit decisions, not to appease anyone or to look comprehensive.

\- You are receptive to technology. You use modern tools and AI to do in hours what an outdated manual approach takes weeks to do, without cutting corners on accuracy.

Not for you if

\- You reach for corporate jargon, fancy tools, or more headcount before you can answer a simple question

\- You think the job is producing reports and looking busy rather than answering "are we making money, and where do we act"

\- You are uncomfortable working in an adult or otherwise restricted vertical

## Benefits

Working Arrangements

\- Full-time, 40 hours a week

\- Remote

Compensation

\- $5,000 to $6,000 USD monthly

\- Room to review upward for an exceptional candidate following an initial period
