## Description

We are on the lookout for a Senior Backend Developer who thrives on building reliable, secure, and scalable systems. In this role, you’ll be working at the core of PayFuture’s payments infrastructure, powering pay-ins, payouts, currency conversions, and real-time settlements across continents. We’re looking for engineers with experience in JAVA based microservices and a deep understanding of building backend services in the financial space.

**As our Senior Backend Engineer, you will have these main objectives:**

● Build, maintain, and scale payment processing services using Java (Spring Boot)

● Design RESTful APIs and asynchronous services used by merchants and internal tools

● Work closely with Product, DevOps, and Frontend teams to deliver features end-to-end

● Implement systems that ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and data integrity

● Write unit, integration, and performance tests

● Participate in system architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical planning

● Monitor, debug, and optimise backend systems in production

## Requirements

**You will be a good fit if you:**

● Have 8+ years of backend development experience with JAVA (SpringBoot)

● Have a deep understanding of microservices architecture, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and relational databases (MySQL,PostgreSQL)

● Are experienced with payment processing, settlement systems, or bank integrations

● Have a strong focus on clean code, design patterns, and scalable system design

● Are familiar with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools

● Have prior exposure to containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus

● Are fluent in English, both written and spoken

**Bonus Points if you are:**

● Knowledgeable of PCI-DSS or other compliance requirements in financial systems

● Experienced with internationalisation and currency conversions

● Familiar with distributed tracing and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, etc.)
