## Description

PHASOR Engineering Inc. is a dynamic company specializing in engineering & design services in the utilities sector. Our experienced and capable teams cover key areas such as Transmission & Distribution, Stations, Protection & Control, Panel Fabrication, Surveying, Civil & Structural Design, Telecommunications, Commissioning and more. Our focus is to provide our diverse range of clients in the energy space the most cost-effective and efficient solutions through top-quality engineering. This focus allows us to be involved in a diverse range of projects from conceptual engineering through to construction completion.

To support an exciting and strong pipeline of secured and potential Transmission projects across North America (including significant ECI & EPC projects) we are currently seeking a highly motivated **Transmission Line Engineering Team Lead** to lead and grow our Ontario transmission line engineering team. This is a new position created in response to sustained growth in our transmission portfolio.

This role is based out of our **Mississauga** office reporting to the Engineering Manager. We offer a dynamic work environment with an extremely experienced technical team, where you will be fully involved in all aspects of the engineering and design process while building and developing the team around you.

**Role & Responsibilities:**

•       Lead, mentor and grow a team of transmission line engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative, high-performance and safety-first culture.

•       Coordinate resources and manage team workload on a day-to-day basis, balancing competing priorities across concurrent projects and adjusting assignments as project demands change.

•       Work with other discipline and regional leads to coordinate resources and ensure on-time, on-budget and quality delivery.

•       Own the development and training of junior and intermediate engineers – establish development plans, provide technical coaching and regular feedback, and support progression toward P.Eng. licensure.

•       Support recruitment and onboarding: identify staffing needs, participate in interviews, and integrate new team members into the group.

•       Lead projects and develop responses to proposals and RFPs, including technical approach, resource and execution plans, and cost and budget estimates.

•       Lead the design and engineering execution of medium to high voltage overhead and underground transmission projects, from conceptual engineering through to construction completion.

•       Lead capital project development including feasibility studies, project scope definitions, capital cost estimates, and preliminary and detailed engineering designs.

•       Interpret codes, standards and client requirements in the creation of optimized design criteria documents.

•       Oversee and produce accurate PLS-CADD / TOWER / POLE models that represent the project conditions and requirements.

•       Develop scopes of work, material specifications, and construction specifications to support the overall execution of projects.

•       Ensure peer reviews are completed, checking and sealing processes, and contribute to internal engineering standards, templates and work practices.

•       Review and seal final design prints.

•       Manage and track cost and schedule of engineering deliverables, monitor team utilization, and report progress, risks and forecasts to senior management as required.

•       Act as a technical point of contact for clients on assigned projects, maintaining strong relationships and identifying further opportunities.

•       Participate in technical meetings with other disciplines, contractors, or customers.

•       Perform site investigations and field reviews when required.

**Qualifications & Skills:**

•       Bachelor Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.

•       Currently Licensed as Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario, or eligible for immediate registration with PEO, with a proven record of stamping and sealing designs.

•       Minimum 10 years of relevant transmission line engineering experience. Ideally a majority of that experience within Canada.

•       Demonstrated experience leading, supervising or mentoring an engineering team, including workload planning and resource coordination.

•       Knowledge of codes and relevant industry standards including CSA, CEC, IEEE, IEC, CIGRE, ANSI and NEMA.

•       Proficient in the use of the PLS software suite.

•       Experience preparing proposals and estimates, and managing project budgets and schedules.

•       Experience working on industrial and/or utilities projects.

•       Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as attention to detail are essential.

•       Able to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.

•       Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites and other PHASOR offices.

•       Valid Class 5 Driver's License.

Desirable skills:

o    Experience with Ontario transmission utilities and their standards (Hydro One, IESO, local LDCs).

o    Experience delivering projects under ECI and EPC models.

o    Experience in performing electrical studies such as EMF, corona losses, grounding design, lightning performance etc.

o    Experience in construction and/or construction support.
