## Description

The HR Manager will be responsible for managing and supporting the day-to-day HR function for TORQ's India business and operations.

The position requires a hands-on HR professional who can independently manage the complete employee lifecycle while partnering closely with business leaders and management.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and international business environment and should combine strong HR operational capabilities with sound judgement, commercial awareness and a people-focused approach.

### Key Responsibilities

**1\. HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle**

-   Manage the complete employee lifecycle from onboarding through separation.
-   Prepare and maintain employment documentation, employee records, HR letters, confirmations and related documentation.
-   Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of employee information within the HRIS.
-   Coordinate onboarding, induction, probation reviews, confirmations, transfers, promotions and exits.
-   Conduct exit formalities and exit interviews.
-   Ensure HR processes and documentation are consistently followed across the India organisation.

**2\. Talent Acquisition**

-   Manage recruitment activities across corporate and business functions.
-   Partner with hiring managers to understand manpower requirements and develop appropriate recruitment strategies.
-   Source and screen candidates through recruitment platforms, agencies, referrals and direct sourcing.
-   Coordinate interviews, assessments and selection processes.
-   Manage candidate communication throughout the recruitment process.
-   Support salary benchmarking, offer negotiations and preparation of employment offers.
-   Maintain recruitment pipelines and provide regular hiring updates to management.

**3\. Employee Relations**

-   Act as a key HR point of contact for employees and managers.
-   Handle employee queries, workplace concerns and day-to-day HR matters professionally and confidentially.
-   Support grievance and disciplinary processes.
-   Promote a professional, respectful and performance-oriented working environment.
-   Identify potential employee relations issues early and work with management to resolve them appropriately.

**4\. Performance Management**

-   Coordinate the company's performance management and appraisal processes.
-   Support managers in setting objectives and performance expectations.
-   Track probation and performance review timelines.
-   Support performance improvement plans where required.
-   Assist management with identifying high performers, development needs and succession requirements.

**5\. Payroll, Compensation & Benefits Coordination**

-   Coordinate monthly payroll inputs with Finance, payroll providers and relevant stakeholders.
-   Validate salary changes, new joiners, exits, bonuses, incentives, deductions, leave and other payroll-related information.
-   Maintain accurate compensation and benefits records.
-   Support annual salary reviews and benchmarking exercises.
-   Assist with administration of employee benefits and insurance programmes.
-   Ensure appropriate HR controls and approvals are maintained.

**6\. HR Compliance & Policies**

-   Ensure HR practices comply with applicable Indian labour and employment legislation.
-   Maintain and periodically review HR policies, procedures and employee documentation.
-   Support compliance relating to working hours, leave, statutory benefits, maternity benefits, POSH and other applicable employment requirements.
-   Coordinate with external consultants, legal advisers and authorities where required.
-   Maintain appropriate documentation and audit readiness.

**7\. Learning & Development**

-   Identify employee and organisational training requirements in partnership with managers.
-   Coordinate internal and external training programmes.
-   Support leadership and employee development initiatives.
-   Maintain training records and monitor completion of mandatory programmes.

**8\. HR Reporting & Analytics**

-   Prepare regular HR reports and management information.
-   Track key HR metrics including:

-   Headcount
-   Recruitment status
-   Employee turnover
-   Absenteeism
-   Leave balances
-   Payroll and personnel costs
-   Vacancies
-   Probation status
-   Performance review completion

-   Provide management with relevant HR insights and recommendations.

**9\. Culture & Employee Engagement**

-   Support initiatives aimed at strengthening TORQ's culture and employee engagement.
-   Organise employee engagement activities and internal HR communications.
-   Support management in maintaining a collaborative, entrepreneurial and high-performance culture.
-   Help integrate employees across different functions and TORQ's international locations.

**10\. Management & Business Support**

-   Work closely with GM HR and senior management on people-related matters.
-   Support organisational changes, restructuring and workforce planning where required.
-   Participate in HR projects and process-improvement initiatives.
-   Coordinate with TORQ's international HR teams to ensure appropriate alignment of policies and processes.
-   Undertake additional HR responsibilities based on evolving business requirements.

## Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

-   7–10 years of progressive HR experience.
-   MBA/PGDM/Postgraduate qualification specialising in Human Resources.
-   Strong hands-on experience in HR operations and employee lifecycle management.
-   Good recruitment and talent acquisition experience.
-   Experience coordinating payroll and employee benefits.
-   Strong knowledge of Indian employment practices and labour-law requirements.
-   Experience managing employee relations matters.
-   Exposure to performance management and HR policy implementation.
-   Strong HRIS and MS Office capabilities, particularly Excel.
-   Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
-   Strong interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills.
-   High level of confidentiality and professional integrity.
-   Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
-   Ability to work independently and take ownership of HR matters.

### Preferred Profile

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

-   Experience within commodities, trading, FMCG, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain or an international business environment.
-   Experience working within an entrepreneurial or promoter-led organisation.
-   Exposure to multinational HR practices.
-   Experience supporting rapidly growing or changing organisations.
-   Experience implementing or improving HR processes rather than only administering established systems.
