**Role Scope & Purpose**

The Back-End Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the server-side logic, databases, and APIs that power web and mobile applications. This role ensures that the application's core functionality is robust, scalable, secure, and performant. The Back-End Engineer collaborates with front-end engineers, DevOps, and product teams to build reliable systems that support business requirements and scale with growth.

**Key Responsibilities**

-   Design and develop scalable, maintainable server-side applications and microservices.
-   Build and maintain RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL endpoints for front-end and mobile consumers.
-   Design and manage relational and/or NoSQL databases, including schema design and query optimization.
-   Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices across systems.
-   Write clean, testable code with appropriate unit and integration test coverage.
-   Collaborate with front-end engineers, DevOps, and data teams on system integration and architecture.
-   Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture planning.
-   Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and scalability issues.
-   Maintain API documentation and technical specifications.
-   Monitor production systems and respond to incidents, ensuring high availability

## Requirements

**Requirements**

-   2–5 years of professional back-end engineering experience.
-   Proficiency in at least one back-end language (Node.js, Python, Java, Go, Ruby, or PHP).
-   Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
-   Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar) and SQL.
-   Understanding of software design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean code practices.
-   Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
-   Experience with authentication/authorization (OAuth2, JWT, or similar).  
    

**Nice to Have**

-   Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB, or similar).
-   Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and serverless architectures.
-   Experience with message queues and event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, etc.).
-   Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
-   Experience with microservices architecture at scale.
-   Familiarity with GraphQL API design and implementation.
