**The Opportunity**

We are seeking a proactive and people-focused HR Officer to join our team in a generalist capacity.

This role is ideal for someone early in their HR career who is looking to build experience across the full employee lifecycle while supporting managers and employees in line with UK employment law and best practice.

You will play a key role in delivering core HR services, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, supporting employee relations matters, and contributing to a safe and positive working environment.

You will report directly to the CEO and CFO but interact daily with all other parts of the business.

-   **Salary:** £35,000 FTE (£26,250 – 30 hours per week – hybrid role, flexible working arrangement)

**Key Responsibilities**

**HR Operations & Administration**

-   Maintain accurate and compliant employee records in line with UK GDPR and data protection requirements
-   Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including issuing contracts of employment and managing right to work checks
-   Administer changes to terms and conditions of employment

**Employee Relations**

-   Provide first-line HR advice to managers and employees in line with UK employment law and the ACAS Code of Practice liaising with Croner
-   Support employee relations casework including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and performance processes
-   Assist with investigations, note-taking, and preparation of outcome letters
-   Ensure fair and consistent application of policies and procedures

**Recruitment & Onboarding**

-   Assist with end-to-end recruitment processes, ensuring compliance with UK legislation (e.g. right to work in the UK)
-   Coordinate interviews and support hiring managers with recruitment best practice
-   Deliver and support structured induction processes

**Health & Safety (H&S)**

-   Supporting the COO with compliance with Health and Safety at Work
-   Assist in maintaining H&S policies, records, and training logs
-   Support the reporting and recording of workplace accidents in line with RIDDOR requirements
-   Coordinate mandatory H&S training (e.g. fire safety, DSE assessments, manual handling)
-   Promote a culture of health, safety, and wellbeing across the organisation

**Policy & Compliance**

-   Ensure HR policies are aligned with current UK employment legislation
-   Support policy reviews and updates in line with legislative changes and best practice
-   Assist with internal audits and compliance checks

**Learning & Development**

-   Coordinate training activities, including statutory and compliance training
-   Support the tracking of employee development and mandatory learning

**HR Projects & Continuous Improvement**

-   Contribute to HR projects and initiatives to improve employee experience and HR processes
-   Support continuous improvement of HR systems and ways of working

## Requirements

**Essential:**

-   Previous experience in an HR role (2 years’ experience) '
-   Working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
-   Understanding of the ACAS guidelines

-   Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-   High level of organisation and attention to detail
-   Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately
-   Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
-   Familiarity with HR systems (HRIS)

**Desirable:**

-   Working towards or completed CIPD Level 3
-   Basic Health & Safety knowledge
-   Experience supporting employee relations casework
