**Employment Type:** Permanent

**Location:** FinDev Canada headquarters is in downtown Montreal. For the right candidate, Ottawa or Toronto will be considered, with the flexibility to work under a hybrid model, with a current requirement of three in-office days per week (subject to change).  

**Compensation Details** 

-   Investments, Grade 21: $150,715 – $200,953 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.

### **Team Overview** 

The Financial Institutions team at FinDev Canada is dedicated to originating and executing investments in the financial institutions sector including lending to local and regional banks and non-bank financial institutions.

### **What You Will Be Doing** 

**Financial Institutions Strategy**

-   Play a key role in developing FinDev Canada’s strategy with respect to its investments in financial institutions.
-   Serve as an internal SME on FinDev Canada’s investments in financial institutions.

**Pre-Pipeline Origination**

-   Build and manage relationships with financial institutions (local and regional banks, non-bank financial institutions) and key partners (commercial lenders, MDBs, DFIs) to originate pipeline.
-   Conduct market engagement with potential clients/co-investors to identify opportunities and position FinDev as a preferred partner.
-   Support across the Financial Institutions team on structuring transactions.

**Partnerships & External Engagement**

-   Build strategic partnerships to facilitate private investment in emerging markets.
-   Represent FinDev Canada at industry forums to strengthen visibility and credibility.

**Advising Across Financial Institutions Transactions**

-   Support transactions across the financial institutions team, providing expertise on structure and execution.
-   Support the review of documents on financial institutions transactions for FinDev Canada’s Triage and Investment Committee.
-   Support negotiations on legal agreements on transactions across the financial institutions team.

### **What We Are Looking For** 

-   Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in development finance lending and specific experience with financial institutions.
-   Experience originating and executing a wide variety of financing transaction structures.  
-   Experience building and managing strategic relationships with financial institutions and key strategic partners.
-   Experience advising on transaction structuring.
-   Experience collaborating cross-functionally with risk, strategy, investments and SME teams to execute transactions.
-   Sharing the values and behaviours that guide FinDev Canada.

### **What Will Make You Stand Out** 

-   Bilingual in both official languages (English, French or Spanish)
-   Experience within a DFI or an MDB.
-   Experience working with emerging markets.
-   Highly effective verbal and written communication skills including experience in coordinating multiple stakeholders within varying spheres of influence.
