About DTID

The **Digital Technology Institute for Development (DTID)** is an international non-profit institute advancing the responsible use of artificial intelligence, blockchain and emerging digital technologies to support sustainable development and policy implementation.

DTID brings together professionals, researchers, technology specialists and other stakeholders to generate research, develop practical solutions, strengthen partnerships and support informed decision-making at the intersection of technology, climate change and sustainable development.

The Role

DTID is seeking an organised, creative and detail-oriented **Communications and Social Media Coordinator** to provide day-to-day communications support to the Communications Division.

The successful candidate will support social-media publishing, content administration, website updates and general communications coordination.

This is a **junior execution role**. Strategic communications, brand direction and media relations remain the responsibility of the relevant Directors.

The role is particularly suited to an early-career communications professional seeking practical international experience in digital communications, social media and institutional content management.

Key Responsibilities

The Communications and Social Media Coordinator will:

-   Schedule and publish approved social-media content.
-   Maintain DTID's social-media calendar.
-   Format approved content for different digital platforms.
-   Make routine website content updates under the direction of the Director of Strategic Communications and Brand.
-   Maintain communications files, image libraries, contact lists and content records.
-   Assist with the preparation of newsletters, event materials, presentations and digital content.
-   Track basic social-media and website performance.
-   Support communications activities surrounding DTID events and announcements.
-   Use approved AI and communications tools for routine production tasks where appropriate.
-   Provide administrative and coordination support to the Communications Division.
-   Follow DTID's approved brand, editorial and communications standards.
-   Undertake other reasonable communications responsibilities assigned by the reporting manager.

General and Specialist Knowledge

Candidates should have knowledge or experience in:

-   Major social-media platforms.
-   Social-media publishing and scheduling.
-   Website content-management systems.
-   Basic digital analytics.
-   Content formatting and administration.
-   Digital communications tools.
-   Microsoft Office or comparable productivity applications.
-   Basic image, presentation or digital-content preparation.

Familiarity with **AI-assisted communications tools, content-scheduling platforms or basic design tools** would be advantageous.

Knowledge or interest in **climate change, sustainability, international development, artificial intelligence, blockchain and emerging digital technologies** would also be advantageous.

Education and Training

Candidates should preferably possess:

-   A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in **Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Media Studies, Digital Media or another relevant discipline**.

Equivalent training, early-career experience or demonstrated capability may also be considered where appropriate.

-   Professional proficiency in English.

Knowledge of an additional international language would be advantageous.

Experience

Candidates should ideally demonstrate:

-   Early-career experience in **communications, digital media, marketing, journalism or a related area**.
-   Familiarity with major social-media platforms.
-   Familiarity with website content-management systems.
-   Experience preparing or formatting digital content.
-   Basic experience using analytics or content-scheduling tools.
-   Experience maintaining accurate digital records or communications files.
-   Experience working independently and taking responsibility for assigned tasks.

Previous experience within an **international organisation, nonprofit organisation, think tank, research institution, technology organisation or sustainability-focused organisation** would be advantageous but is not essential.
