**Location:** Onsite role in Indianapolis, IN

**Work Schedule:** Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

**Pay:** $55,000 USD/annually

**Job Summary**

Fulfill the Shipping Lead’s direction on outbound production by applying trained knowledge of correct shipping method conducive to the product configuration and method of its shipping.

**What You'll Do...**

-   Retains shipping knowledge necessary to decide the best carrier for cost & customer delivery requirements based on size, destination & delivery date.
-   Retains specific customer routing and requirements to ship and bill correctly.
-   Works independently on shipments and communicates with area peers and leads for shipping volume coordination.
-   Occasionally prepares pallets by hand stretch wrapping and utilizing steel or plastic bands to secure load to pallet.
-   Assists in floor arrangement to allow smooth entry of production product and prevent departmental bottlenecking.
-   Can perform manual or online Bills of Ladings, UPS or Fed Ex software transactions (with memorized operating rules) and carrier contacts.
-   Pulls carrier shipment records, checks stock entries (and reports discrepancies), calculates predetermined mark ups and enters freight cost and tracking into ERP (initiates invoicing process)
-   Reconciles “Many:1” ratio of ERP where 1 line item represents 100s or 1000s of independent address records that need related back to the single line. Process is known as batching.
-   Loads trucks using forklift and electric floor jacks.
-   Receives written or verbal prompts to initiate tracking of shipments via web access or carrier offices (phone).
-   Maintains schedule(s) managed outside ERP that alert pack dates to manufacturing as well as informs carriers for pickup.
-   Requests required supplies from the Warehouse and notifies lead or supervisor of outside supplies needed that cannot be obtained from the Warehouse.
-   Reports returned shipments and seeks carrier credits for service failures.

## Requirements

**What You'll Bring...**

-   More than 1 year experience with UPS Worldship and Fed Ex Ship Manager.
-   Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent and some related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
-   More that 1 year experience with working in a warehouse, shipping & receiving environment.
-   One year of previous counter balance forklift experience required.

-   Intermediate use of Microsoft applications including Access, Excel, Word & Outlook plus web site navigation.
-   Ability to read spreadsheets & job tickets.
-   Requires strong communication skills both in person and over the phone.
-   Must be capable of effectively interacting with individuals in a variety of organizational roles and levels of responsibility both at Pratt and outside of the organization.
-   Must maintain productivity and efficiency level and appropriate business demeanor even within high pressure or short-deadline circumstances.

**Physical Demands & Working Conditions:**

-   Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, 30 lbs. of force frequently and 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
-   Must be able to stand a minimum of 8 – 10 hours a day.
-   Will work in environmental conditions, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Will require some exposure to outside environmental conditions with no effective protection from the weather.
-   Will work on the warehouse and production floor among temperature changes, varying noise levels and vibrations, and in close proximity to machines with moving and electrical parts.
-   There is potential of exposure to fumes, odors and chemicals.
-   Requires strong visual acuity and field of vision, with the ability to see near and far, perceive depth, and distinguish color.
-   Must be capable of working overtime with occasional needs for flexible hours.
