## Description

**BESS Project Manager | Remote | UK**

  

Our Client is looking for an experienced **BESS Project Manager** to lead the delivery of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) EPC projects, from early development and technical planning through construction, commissioning and handover.

  

This is a key role for someone who can combine strong project leadership with deep technical understanding of BESS, power systems and UK grid integration.

  

**_Please note, occasional travel to sites will be required._**

  

**Responsibilities:**

-   Lead project delivery across programme, budget, quality, risk and HSEQ.
-   Oversee BESS technology selection, system design and technical planning.
-   Coordinate DNO/TSO engagement, grid compliance and connection requirements.
-   Manage EPC contractors, OEMs, vendors and subcontractors.
-   Lead technical input into procurement, specifications and contract delivery.
-   Oversee construction, energisation, commissioning, SAT and performance testing.
-   Act as the key technical and project interface with clients and stakeholders.
-   Coordinate with the technical team team to develop detailed technical specifications for BESS systems, SCADA/EMS platforms, HV/MV infrastructure, and Balance of Plant (BoP).

  

**Requirements:**

-   Proven experience delivering large-scale EPC projects in energy/engineering.
-   Experience with CHP, BESS, HV/MV infrastructure, gas peaking, or electrical installations.
-   Strong BESS, power systems and grid integration experience.
-   Good knowledge of UK grid codes and DNO/TSO processes.
-   Experience with FIDIC, NEC and/or JCT contracts.
-   Strong commercial, cost control and stakeholder management skills.
-   Engineering degree; CEng and/or project management qualification.
