## Description

**Position Title:** democracyFIRST Voter Protection Deputy Director

**Location:** Remote

**Salary**: biweekly, $4,090

**Preferred Start Date:** September 1, 2026

**End Date:** November 20, 2026

**Position Summary:**

democracyFIRST is seeking an experienced Voter Protection Deputy Director. The role will support the national program by tracking and leading voter protection activity across multiple states. The VoPro Deputy Director will be responsible for ensuring the broader program’s alignment on ensuring access to the ballot, helping turn out voters, and tracking certification and cure activities. This is a full-time remote position that reports to the Executive Director. Given placement of staff across time zones, this employee must be available for work during 10:00am - 6:00pm ET hours with night and weekend availability as the cycle demands.

**Responsibilities:**

-   Track and develop voter protection efforts across multiple states, including understanding and implementing efforts around: early voting, mail-in-ballot utilization, day-of election protection, and certification/cure efforts.
-   Work with the field team to develop and oversee ballot chase and cure efforts.
-   Build and maintain reporting regarding legal and legislative efforts in priority states that impact election access and administration.
-   Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and National Organizing Director

**Qualifications (You will be a good fit if):**

-   Either: At least two cycles of experience in a voter protection role, or, experience working in election law.
-   Experience producing briefing materials, tracking legal and legislative activity.
-   Proven experience in developing voter protection plans utilizing field and paid communications strategies to turn out and protect the vote.
-   Ability to manage several tasks and projects concurrently and to prioritize work effectively.
-   Experience working across campaign departments.

**Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):**

-   Familiarity with Votebuilder, voter file data, election results data.
-   Previous campaign experience in a field or operations role.
-   Experience automating and managing Google Sheets
