The Travel Operations Manager is a newly created role responsible for leading and transforming the company’s European travel function. This position will manage a team of five and act as the primary liaison with Operations Directors across multiple European sites to ensure travel programmes are efficient, cost-effective, compliant, and aligned with operational needs.

The role will establish governance, standardisation, and best‑in‑class travel practices while maintaining a strong service‑ and stakeholder‑focused mindset.

The Travel Manager oversees the company’s travel programme, designing and implementing policies to ensure cost efficiency, compliance, and traveller safety. They play a key role in optimising travel budgets while balancing employee experience with company travel spend and providing ongoing support to employees.

## Requirements

**What You Need to Succeed**

To succeed in this position you must have excellent communications skills, experience in the travel/Accommodation sector along with people management skills. The Travel Operations Manager oversees the company’s travel programme, designing and implementing policies to ensure cost efficiency, compliance, and traveller safety. They play a key role in optimising travel budgets while balancing employee experience with company travel spend and providing ongoing support to employees.

**Key Responsibilities**

-   **Policy Development:**  
    Creating, implementing, and maintaining corporate travel policies and ensuring employee compliance across European sites.
-   **Cost Management:**  
    Managing travel budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and optimising travel-related expenses.
-   **Travel Arrangements:**  
    Overseeing and/or handling bookings for flights, accommodation, and transportation for employees.
-   **Stakeholder Management:**  
    Acting as the primary point of contact for Operations Directors and senior stakeholders across multiple European locations.
-   **Risk Management:**  
    Monitoring traveller safety and managing travel logistics during disruptions or unexpected events.
-   **Data Analysis:**  
    Analysing travel spend and trends to optimise future travel strategies.
-   **Monthly Reporting:**  
    Overseeing monthly payroll reports for flights, accommodation, and fleet costs.
-   **Team Leadership:**  
    Managing, supporting, and developing a team of five within the travel, accommodation, and fleet function.

**Key Skills and Requirements**

-   **Negotiation Skills:**  
    Ability to build strong relationships and secure best rates with travel and accommodation suppliers.
-   **Analytical Skills:**  
    Strong ability to manage budgets, analyse spending data, and calculate costs.
-   **Organisational Skills:**  
    Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to coordinate complex travel logistics across multiple sites.
-   **Communication Skills:**  
    Excellent interpersonal skills to support employees and collaborate effectively with Operations, travel, accommodation, and fleet teams.
-   **Technical Skills:**  
    Strong knowledge of travel management tools, booking platforms, Excel, and Outlook.
