**About the role  
**  
We're hiring a Senior Backend Java Developer who takes ownership of their work end-to-end, from writing the code to solving problems when they come up in production, and who's independent, curious, and quick to figure things out.

  
**Responsibilities:**

-   Own features from business requirement clarification through design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support.
-   Translate business needs into technical solutions with clear trade-offs around quality, scalability, cost, and delivery speed.
-   Design and develop Java-based backend services, APIs, and business logic for complex order management workflows.
-   Design and troubleshoot asynchronous flows, synchronous APIs, Error handling, and reconciliation.
-   Monitor application health, logs, performance, and operational metrics.
-   Participate in on-call rotations and support production stability with a strong operational mindset.
-   Act as a reliable team member who can independently deliver work and unblock delivery.
-   Use AI tools to accelerate development, testing, and troubleshooting.
-   Learn unfamiliar systems quickly, especially enterprise platforms like IBM Sterling OMS.
-   Work with both modern and legacy stacks

## Requirements

-   **Production Ownership** – On-call experience, debugged live issues, end-to-end feature ownership, postmortems

-   **Java Backend (3+ yrs)** – OOP, design patterns, concurrency, Spring Boot/Spring Framework
-   **REST APIs & Integration** – Production-grade APIs, third-party integrations, versioning, error handling
-   **AWS Serverless & Architecture** – Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, S3; understand cold starts, cost optimization, failure modes, high-availability patterns, serverless design tradeoffs
-   **Database & SQL** – Query optimization, transactions, migrations, schema design, RDS optimization
-   **Observability & Troubleshooting** – Logging, metrics, tracing, cross-system debugging, SLO/SLI, CloudWatch
-   **Angular Frontend (2+ yrs)** – Components, services, routing, TypeScript
-   **Event-Driven** – IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, event sourcing, CQRS, async architectures
-   **Testing & Code Quality** – Unit tests, integration tests, TDD, clean code
-   **Learning Agility** – Learn Enterprise app in < 3 months, learns frameworks/domains independently
-   **Full-Stack Delivery** – Own features end-to-end: design → code → test → deploy → monitor → support

-   **IBM Sterling OMS** – Order orchestration, task patterns, user exits, APIs, fulfillment workflows
-   **Advanced Java/Spring** – Spring Data JPA, Spring Cloud, microservices, DDD, reactive streams
-   **AWS Advanced** – CloudFormation/CDK, Step Functions, Kinesis, advanced VPC/networking, multi-region failover
-   **Tech Leadership** – Open-source contributions, technical writing, mentoring, architecture discussions
