## Description

We are seeking an experienced **Project Manager** to lead large-scale **commercial electrical construction projects** throughout the Detroit area. This position is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction turnover through final closeout while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, profitability, and client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has a proven background working for a **commercial electrical contractor or self-performing electrical construction company** and is comfortable overseeing multiple projects, coordinating field and office teams, and driving successful project execution. Experience with **healthcare, higher education, institutional, and other complex commercial projects** is highly preferred.

### Responsibilities

-   Manage commercial electrical construction projects from preconstruction through final completion and turnover.
-   Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, procurement strategies, and execution plans.
-   Oversee project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, billing, labor productivity, committed costs, change orders, and profitability.
-   Coordinate project teams, including superintendents, foremen, electricians, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and general contractors.
-   Review and interpret electrical plans, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and construction schedules.
-   Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement activities, project documentation, and closeout packages.
-   Partner with estimating teams to ensure a seamless transition from preconstruction into project execution.
-   Collaborate with BIM/VDC teams to support constructability reviews, clash detection, prefabrication, and installation planning.
-   Lead project meetings and maintain strong communication with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and internal leadership.
-   Monitor project progress, labor productivity, material procurement, schedules, and overall financial performance.
-   Identify project risks early and implement solutions to minimize impacts on budget and schedule.
-   Support field leadership by providing the resources, information, and direction needed to maintain production goals.
-   Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
-   Oversee commissioning, punch-list completion, documentation, and final project turnover.
-   Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and project partners.

## Requirements

-   **5+ years of Project Management experience in commercial electrical construction.**
-   Experience working for a **commercial electrical contractor or self-performing electrical construction company is required.**
-   Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, installation methods, construction sequencing, and field operations.
-   Proven ability to manage projects independently from startup through closeout.
-   Experience with budgeting, forecasting, billing, procurement, labor management, change orders, and cost control.
-   Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and project schedules.
-   Experience developing manpower plans, procurement schedules, and project execution strategies.
-   Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
-   Ability to coordinate field personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, general contractors, and internal departments.
-   Experience collaborating with estimating and BIM/VDC teams throughout the project lifecycle.
-   Financially accountable with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate project risks.
-   Capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced commercial construction environment.
-   Experience with **healthcare, hospital, higher education, institutional, or other large commercial projects is strongly preferred.**
