 **What You’ll Do** 

The Director, Human Resources Operations is an HR leader responsible for delivering exceptional operational excellence across the employee lifecycle while building scalable people infrastructure that enables PracticeTek's continued growth. 

This leader oversees HR Shared Services, HR Systems and Technology, Payroll, HR Compliance, Employee Experience, and People Analytics, ensuring HR delivers efficient, consistent, and employee-centered services across the organization. Working closely with the Director of HR Business Partnering, this role creates the operational foundation that enables strategic HR initiatives while continuously redesigning work through automation, artificial intelligence, digital workflows, and data-driven decision making to improve both employee experience and organizational efficiency. 

The Director develops PracticeTek's HR operating model, establishing governance, service standards, and scalable processes that enable the HR function to operate efficiently while supporting a rapidly growing, private equity-backed organization. 

Success in this role requires operational leadership, systems thinking, continuous improvement expertise, deep HR technology and payroll knowledge, strong business acumen, and a passion for creating effortless employee experiences. 

**Essential Responsibilities**

**HR Strategy & Operational Excellence** 

-   Develop and execute the HR Operations strategy, ensuring scalable, efficient, and employee-centered service delivery.  

-   Partner with the CHRO and Director of HR Business Partnering to align operational priorities with enterprise people strategies.  

-   Establish governance, service standards, operating rhythms, and service level expectations that improve consistency, accountability, and business outcomes.  

-   Develop scalable HR operating models, documentation, and processes that simplify work while improving quality and efficiency.  

-   Lead operational workstreams supporting organizational growth, acquisitions, integrations, reorganizations, and business transformation initiatives.  

**Shared Services & Employee Experience** 

-   Lead HR Shared Services, ensuring efficient, consistent, and employee-centered support across the employee lifecycle.  

-   Oversee onboarding, offboarding, employee experience programs, workplace services, and HR operations that create seamless experiences for employees and leaders.  

-   Drive continuous improvement by redesigning HR workflows through automation, artificial intelligence, digital self-service, and process optimization, eliminating manual work while improving the employee and manager experience. 

-   Establish operational KPIs and service standards that measure performance and continuously improve service delivery.  

**Payroll, Compliance & Governance** 

-   Provide strategic oversight of payroll operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processing across all jurisdictions.  

-   Partner with Finance on payroll reconciliation, controls, compensation administration, and operational process improvements.  

-   Ensure HR operations comply with federal, state, and international employment laws while maintaining consistent policies, governance, and documentation.  

-   Partner with Legal, Finance, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, and HR Business Partners to mitigate organizational risk and strengthen operational excellence.  

**HR Technology & Analytics** 

-   Lead PracticeTek's HR technology strategy, leveraging automation, artificial intelligence, system integrations, reporting, and digital self-service to build a modern, scalable HR operating model. 

-   Identify, evaluate, and implement emerging AI capabilities that improve HR service delivery, simplify work, enhance decision making, and increase organizational productivity. 

-   Manage HR technology vendors and lead system implementations and enhancements that improve operational efficiency.  

-   Develop executive dashboards, workforce metrics, and HR reporting that provide actionable business insights.  

-   Leverage workforce analytics to identify trends, improve organizational health, and inform strategic workforce decisions.  

**Leadership** 

-   Lead and develop a high-performing HR Operations team focused on operational excellence, continuous improvement, and exceptional service delivery.  

-   Build organizational capability by coaching team members, raising operational standards, and fostering accountability.  

-   Evaluate emerging HR technologies and industry best practices to ensure PracticeTek remains ahead of the market. 

**Your unique talents are what makes you shine. For this role, success looks like:** 

-   Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field.  

-   10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with significant HR Operations leadership.  

-   5+ years leading HR Operations, Shared Services, Payroll, HR Technology, or comparable operational HR functions.  

-   Experience leveraging automation, artificial intelligence, and digital workflow technologies to simplify work, improve service delivery, and scale HR operations. 

-   Demonstrated experience leading payroll operations in a multi-state environment.  

-   Experience implementing, optimizing, and administering enterprise HR systems.  

-   Demonstrated success leading HR process transformation, automation, and operational excellence initiatives.  

-   Strong knowledge of federal, state, and multi-state employment laws.  

-   Experience building workforce analytics, executive dashboards, and operational reporting.  

-   Experience partnering with senior business leaders in a high-growth organization.  

-   Experience supporting SaaS, healthcare technology, and/or private equity-backed organizations preferred.  

-   Strong business acumen with the ability to connect operational excellence to business outcomes.  

-   Excellent communication, executive presentation, analytical, and relationship-building skills.

**The Fine Print (That Really Matters)** 

At PracticeTek, we determine compensation by considering market data, internal equity, and each candidate’s skills and experience. For this position, we reasonably expect to pay between $165k-$175k base, plus 15% bonus. This role is also eligible for benefits, including health, dental, vision, paid time off, 401(k) with company match, and may be eligible for additional compensation such as bonuses or equity, as applicable.
