We are seeking a PLC Programmer to join our dynamic team. The PLC Programmer is responsible for designing and developing control programs for electrical machines and systems and commissioning of new equipment. We are looking to add someone to our team who is efficient, can navigate logical processes, and continuous learning independently or in a team setting. The PLC Programmer promotes a positive company image through a focus of safety, quality, consistency, and professionalism. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** - Install, setup and commission automation in an industrial or manufacturing environment - Development & troubleshooting of PLC/HMI programs, instrumentation and other hardware or software - Create, read, and understand electrical schematics, panel wiring and PLC ladder logic diagrams - Complete or modify control panel and other hardware wiring for new and existing equipment - Setup and commission communication networks (Ethernet IP, Fieldbus, RS485, RS232) - Work with project coordinators and project stakeholders on scheduling all programming activities - Provide guidance and mentorship to other junior team members when requested - Integration of specialized hardware and software into manufacturing systems to enhance automation and control with an emphasis on efficiency - Work in collaboration with customers, project managers, project leads, mechanical designers, and electricians to successfully complete projects on time and on budget - Support effective customer communication and project management, including attending customer meetings, responding to customer concerns and directing requests to the appropriate company contact - Work in a safe manner & adhere to all safety policies & procedures - In accordance with company policy/ESA; overtime, work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the company - All other duties as assigned ## Requirements - 309A Red Seal certification an asset - Graduate of a Robotics and Automation Technology program or equivalent experience and training - 3-5 years of hands-on PLC programming experience, ladder logic, HMI’s, VFD’s and other industrial automation - Experience with Allen Bradley, SLC, Logix, Automation Direct - Directsoft 5 and Productivity, Omron and Siemens - Familiar creating graphical interfaces using - Factory Talk View, C-more, Indusoft  - Demonstrated hands on experience troubleshooting, repairing and completing preventative maintenance on different types of equipment in fast paced manufacturing/industrial environment - Proficient in robot programming such as Kuka, ABB, Fanuc and Motoman - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - You have a get it done attitude and are skilled at removing barriers - You operate with a team spirit, not with ego; you want everyone, including yourself, to do their best work; you see your success as dependent on the success of the team - You have the ability to think beyond the needs of the customer to point out errors and potential issues - You are able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions, cope effectively with complexity and change, quickly understand and absorb new information and respond appropriately ## Benefits Employees are encouraged to take ownership of their career growth through continuous learning and development opportunities.
