As our business research programs continue to grow globally, we're looking for someone to help us build meaningful partnerships with businesses across Japan.

This isn't a traditional sales role. You won't be selling software or closing commercial deals. Instead, you'll introduce businesses to opportunities to participate in exciting research and data programs that help shape the future of AI and technology.

### About the Role

As our Business Development & Partnerships Executive, you'll own the entire journey - from identifying the right businesses to ensuring they successfully complete our research programs.

You'll reach out to small and medium-sized businesses across Japan, build relationships with decision-makers, guide them through onboarding, and support them through program completion.

This is a hands-on role with plenty of autonomy. We care about results, creativity, and building great relationships.

### What You'll Do

### Find Great Businesses

-   Build a pipeline of qualified small and medium-sized businesses (typically under 300 employees).
-   Reach decision-makers through calls, email, LinkedIn, networking, referrals, and in-person meetings where appropriate.
-   Build trust and explain the value of participating in Pulse Labs' programs.

### Build Partnerships

-   Understand each business and determine whether they're a good fit.
-   Answer questions, handle objections, and guide businesses through the decision-making process.
-   Create positive relationships that encourage future participation.

### Manage the Entire Journey

-   Own the relationship from the first conversation through successful program completion.
-   Guide businesses through onboarding and participation requirements.
-   Coordinate scheduling, documentation, and communications with internal teams.
-   Ensure participating businesses complete all required activities on time.
-   Deliver a smooth, professional experience throughout the program.

### Keep Things Organized

-   Maintain an accurate pipeline using CRM tools.
-   Track outreach, onboarding progress, and completed businesses.
-   Share regular updates and collaborate closely with our global operations team.

### What Success Looks Like

During this four-month contract, you'll:

-   Build a strong pipeline of qualified businesses across Japan.
-   Successfully onboard and support approximately 100 businesses through program completion.
-   Build lasting relationships with business leaders across multiple industries.
-   Help establish Pulse Labs as a trusted research partner in Japan.

### Nice to Have

-   Existing network within the Japanese business community.
-   Experience working with small and medium businesses (SMBs).
-   Experience in technology, SaaS, consulting, research, or professional services.
-   Experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
-   Experience working with globally distributed teams.

### Compensation

This is a four-month contract with a performance-based compensation structure.

You'll receive a combination of:

-   A monthly base retainer
-   Performance incentives tied to successfully onboarding and supporting businesses through program completion

The target goal for this engagement is approximately 100 successfully completed business partnerships over the four-month contract. Full compensation details will be shared during the interview process.

## Requirements

### What We're Looking For

-   3-7 years of experience in Business Development, Partnerships, Account Management, Enterprise Sales, Customer Success, or similar roles.
-   Native Japanese fluency and professional English proficiency.
-   Experience working directly with business owners, founders, or senior decision-makers.
-   Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
-   Comfortable with proactive outreach and creating opportunities from scratch.
-   Highly organized with excellent follow-through.
-   Self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working remotely.
